Hi, I'm a new player and I got gifted the game not long ago and I can't register the game due to region restriction ( not an NA code) can square enix support help me swap codes? If I provide them with all the registration and UPC codes?

Thanks

I doubt it, SE is pretty poor in the customer service department from what I've seen. Generally speaking they adhere strongly to bad rules.

Your best bet would be to attempt to create an EU or JP-based account (for whatever region the code is from) and registering the game on that account.

Yeah, you can play on any server. I couldn't tell you what difference (if any) the region makes, just that SE strongly enforces it for some unknown reason.

They did this with FFXI as well. You couldn't, say, install an EU expansion on a NA FFXI without a registry hack. So pointless.

Is the game free? how come it won't let me play and asks me to do stuff on my account settings and insists that I pay the 10 euro's?

It's free-to-play but you still need to register with one of their payment systems. Not sure why they don't just disable it for the time being; that should give you an indication of how the rest of the game has been unfolding. :P

You have to set it up as if you will be billed but they will not actually charge you. It does not let you register easily the way that actual free to play games do.
