So- I had a thought (and of course decided I needed a whole thread dedicated to it.)

I hate action points. I hate resetting them wasting a macro (ok, we have plenty.. I def hate creating macros). I hate the thought and time it takes to set and unset (I know, make a macro.. But I hate that!). So my thought, "wouldn't it be nice if all your job/role/class actions and skills were automatically available to you and you only had to set other class actions to the bar?"

Of course we are talking about some seriously reduced points you have to work with. Would that not create a better sense of what your class is? It could even be implemented a la XI where initially you cannot access other skills until a certain level or other prerequisite met. Perhaps skills on this supplemental skill set are 50% as potent. Maybe you could quest for more slots or make a slot 100% effective.

I know we don't know how these profession revisions will end up looking like- So it's certainly a pipe dream for now. But as I said- I woke up with a thought this morning- which is a tad unusual.

How'd you want this changed?

I disagree - I like that fact that I can tailor my character to how I want it to be played, and making the macro is no great hardship, once you have one complete set created you can just use the copy/paste function to create a new macro set - you just need to tailor the abilities - and let's face it, with the exception of DoM I'd wager most people are like in in that they have a set format and most actions carry through to the same eaction slot no matter what class you play.

My gripe would be the time it takes for the macro to run when resetting eaction, I'd be thankful if they could sort that.

What they need to add is that the game needs to remember the actionbars for each of your classes. If you change your class from Mrd to Thm then the game should save the actions you set for Mrd and load actions you had set for Thm.

I think it would be much easier that in the GUI you get a window opening with all of your traits/abilities available for that class and you then tick/check all the abilities you want and your action points total decreases. The whole box would be viewable onscreen so you can see every ability and wouldn't have to scroll down or anything. For using other classes abilities you would have an arrow that when clicked takes you too that particular classes abilities with abilities you cannot use greyed out.

I also agree with the above post that each time you change class/job your previous selection is remembered.

I think they mentioned that in some letter, about remembering what was set to the bar so that when you change back, the
Bar changes,back too. Could have sworn I read that

I read it more as each class will have it's own AP and Stats each time you choose... but that was a while ago and my brain is broken currently

I like the system as it is and don't have any serious complaints with it. The idea of saving preset skills for a class is great, but if you have a general idea of what you want to use and don't have a macro set it only takes a minute or two to set them all manually. In my opinion, this makes for a fun way to spend the some time while waiting for a Behest to start.
