I am buying a new laptop. I want it to be able to run FFXIV. All of the research I have done has led me to a Sager NP 8130

CPU: Intel Core i7 2630QM
RAM: 8192 MB DDR3 1333mHz
GPU: nVidia GTX 560M

I wanted to ask the opinions of the experts here. I have read that the mobile GPUs do not run FFXIV very well. Is this true. Not sure how this compares to other mobile graphic cards, but it seems to be a decent build and for only $1300 I was seriously considering ordering this soon. Is this processor enough, also?

Here is the link with all the juicy: http://www.xoticpc.com/shopping_cart_show.php?wconfigure=yes

The processor is great, and all things considered, the 560M is a strong mobile GPU. You could run the game much better on much less money if you were ok with getting a desktop instead, but that's your call. It should be fine.

Yes, it should work very well. Not all max settings, but you shouldn't have any issues. I play with the same cpu and ram with a 6870M.

I really am looking for mobility within my home. A desktop would work, but only until I want to play upstairs in bed or in the nursery.

So no max settings with this comp. Is it even possible to play on max settings using a mobile GPU? As long as the game still looks pretty to me I will be happy.

Thanks for the help.
