Airships are coming in 1.19 according to a community interview with Yoshi. They will require a quest and will cost a fee afterwards.

Ifrit fight is also coming in 1.19.

Removal of physical levels in 1.19 as well.

Thank you, this is great! I've been looking everywhere for a thread that compiles everything into one ^^

Just a side note, physical levels aren't being abolished until 1.19?! I thought that was all part of the battle system rehaul on friday..?

Thank you for this, its nice to have all the updates in one place. Hopefully this will reduce the "Patch 1.18 fail!" threads from people who can't read announcements properly.
Gotta say, 1.18 looks freakin' awesome, and 1.19 is already shaping up to be as epic, with chocobos, airships, ifrit, and beast tribe strongholds.

I'm not sure when it is planned for implementation but, I didn't see anything about the 'advanced jobs' in the list.

'Just thought I'd throw that out there ^.-

I can't find a specific quote whether the removal of Physical Leves is due on 1.18 or 1.19 but I think I read somewhere that is was due only at 1.19.

I think it's 1.20+ but not 100% sure, will look at it in more details, cheers.

Edit: Found the a post stating that jobs would be on 1.20, updated OP.

Note on Job Implementation:

http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/threads/14787-So..Lets-talk-jobs?p=205504&viewfull=1#post205504

"I seem to recall there being a discussion about what each class will become job-wise in a previous thread. While it's still a bit too early to talk about the specifics, I will let you know a bit about the plan. Once it becomes possible to publicize the specs, I plan on making a post in battle mechanics section, but since job implementation will be taking place post-class balance adjustments, it is going to take some time. (Planning for post patch 1.20.)"

The way I read the writing from Yoshi, Job Implementation will take place after (post) patch 1.20. Am I interepreting that correctly?

If so, Job Implementation should be moved to "unknown patch information".

It might well be so, I would ask if you could please link to the original post, I would assume that whichever is the most recent will probably be the correct one as the most updated.

Thanks Hugus!

With all those annoucements spread out it was hard to keep track of what's coming.

I wonder what a cross reference between this list and the actual patch notes would like like. Promised vs. Recieved.

(I'll bet we hear them trimming down the expectations for 1.18 before it goes live.)

With the way the game has been received by the comunity in general I think is normal that we take inovations with a grain of salt but I'm still hopeful.

There were quite a few ZAM members which were doubting that the patch would be released on the date they announced and that seems to have been missfounded. I can only hope that SE has noticed that they really need to make good their information and raise up to the comunity's expectations :)

They have also stated several times that they plan to make changes (major and minor) to most zones. I would assume a lot of the design changes would be made with jumping in mind.

There are a few mentions in here:
http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/threads/16129-The-Community-Teams-interview-Yoshida-in-Japan!

Quote:
What is your favorite zone in FFXIV?
Yoshida: Central Mor Dhona, where the remains of the fallen airship can be seen. The place oozes with a sense of adventure. I'm hoping to create more places like this when we revise the map - and make sure there's plenty of content to compliment them!

Quote:
You previously mentioned that you guys are working on redesigning the areas. Are you more focused on changing the geography or the design?
Yoshida: Changes will be made to both the geography and the design of the areas. Some areas will be changed rather drastically, so I'd love if you all could discuss how you think the changes will be made while you're all looking forward to it.

Quote:
Are you planning to make cities more “lively”?
Yoshida: Yes, we are planning to work on this as part of the revamping of the map!

Dont forget that some of this can be moved to earlier patches. The beast tribe settlements for example were supposed to be 1.19, but are now coming in 1.18.

I think you might be confusing the settlements announced yesterday and the Beastmen ones, not so sure they will both be released tomorrow...

In addition to the above, beast tribe settlements will also be implemented in patch 1.18. And by way of a sneak preview, imposing strongholds and larger settlements of the beastman persuasion are slated to appear in 1.19—a development that could only bode ill for the peace and prosperity of Eorzea.

The beast tribe settlements are supposed to be in 1.18 according to the settlement update, but not large strongholds or anything.

I wouldn't expect it any earlier than in 3 weeks. To my best knowledge there hasn't been any hint of when it might be coming, I'm guessing this might have something to do with 1.18 not even being out yet.

With 1.18 here for over a weekend some people would have already made their minds up on whether is it a un/welcome patch or not, personally I feel I'm still getting used to the new combat system along with finding new ways/places to rank up my Gladiator.

With more changes being expected to combat system and hate distribution I'm also keeping an eye out for new regarding updates for 1.19 and a possible time frame due on it.

Seems we gonna get a 1.18a patch which includes a toggle on and off for weapon visuals, seems "people" couldnt handle being in their swim swuits with a weapon by their sides.....

Also, confirmation of impact of atributes/stats on 1.19.

Quote:
Not an overabundance of details to share, but you can expect further details will be posted in the forums and topics in the near future. Hopefully you guys can hold out a bit longer!

How will your own weapons/armor turn into materia? Through using them a lot and reaching a certain point, will they turn into materia?
That’s right. Here are the steps:

1) When you have the weapon/armor equipped, you will accumulate attachment points.
2) Once you have accumulated a certain amount of attachment points, you will be given the option to turn the equipment into materia.

However, there is certain equipment that you will be unable to convert into materia.

Will materia be removable?
By speaking with an NPC, you can have materia removed from your equipment.
In this instance, you will retain your equipment, but the materia that was removed will disappear.

Can weapons that have been infused through materia craft be turned into materia again? Is this limited to one time only? Or can this be done multiple times?
You can turn equipment into materia as many times as you want.

It has been stated that "equipment with materia can be traded," but I believe that "materia can be traded by itself" has not been confirmed.
Equipment with materia attached and materia itself can be traded.
However, as usual, "Untradeable" items cannot be traded.

*Keep in mind, some terminology may not be finalized, so don’t hold me to it when the Localization guys came up with fancier terms than the above!

I have actually been keeping it updated, adding the latest posts onto it. In regards to keeping 1.18 present on the original post is just so people that have been absent are able to see not only upcoming changes but also previous changes which have already taken place. I'll put in the patch date for those that might not know which patches have been and which are still to come.

Even more important than "Clarification on the Materia system" is that it is gonna be implemented in 1.19, you should edit that. It has been confirmed several times that the materia system is gonna be in 1.19.

To be honest I'm not sure whether the Materia system will be launched on 1.19 or 1.20.

One of the things I'm trying to do here is provide information to people that might not play the game but wanna keep an eye on upcoming changes to the game. To make this a reliable source I link all information to an official SE statement, can you provide me with a link stating when the materia system will be coming out?

It seems everyone is overlooking the very BEST part of the latest update:

Heya Hugus, thanks for your continued work on this thread!

Can I ask a favor? Because of the new requirement to select a Main Character on the Official forums, and the glitch which simply won't allow me to highlight one of the stars (Can't select a main character, or login to complain about it.) I simply can't follow the links you are providing.

Would you be able to Quote the significant snippets from the forums and repost it here?

Would be much appreciated.

Hopefully they'll fix other small stuff too, like ripples made in puddles of water you walk in, or footprints on sand/grass you walk on. I kind of miss those small things from XI.
