With the changes being introduced in patch 1.18, our Disciple of the Land friends will be able to receive SP as a reward for completing levequests. In addition to that, the amount of SP obtained with each gather will also be increased.

DoL is quite possibly one of the worst grinds in the game. Hopefully this does something to help with that.

Yea I'm glad they're doing a little somethin' about that. It sucks when you're ready to do some serious leveling on a class and the game prevents you from doing that. But I get why they try to put some limits on gathering. It's one of those double-edged swords. There is some need for it, but it annoys the **** out of you when it affects you.

Good to hear... I would also like to see some more variety of levequests... like, bigtime.

And in gathering itself. It'd be neat if they changed the "mini-game" a bit with different nodes... even a little...

Its nice that they are increasing the EXP, but they also need to find some way to allow us to EXP while in Gathering fatigue and not lose much EXP. I hope in the future they will scrap how EXP works with gathering in general or at least give us full EXP when we hit an item but can't bring it up thanks to gathering fatigue.

Also they need to add gathering nodes in between the current ones (Like mining node 3.5 or something), as well as add some grade 6 nodes for mining and botany. The grind between nodes can be just unbearable and yet when you do reach that new node... you zoom along through the node real fast till you start hitting that brick wall again >< I swear getting rank 50 in any of them outside of fishing is the worst kinda of masochism you can find. And the Fishing one is only good because they cheat by having rank 10 nodes, and you can fish from **** near anywhere and don't need to constantly look for a new spot.

lol I think I read somewhere that they were going to get rid of grades 6-10 for fishing. Hopefully I'm wrong since I haven't even equipped a fishing rod yet. I'd like to be able to lvl at least one DoL easily.

'Tis true. I don't recall if they said when, but they said instead of giving MIN and BOT higher grades they'd be reducing FSH to 5 as the highest.

This reminds me of a cartoon I saw in the margins of a Sociology textbook:

Boss: "I'm sorry, John, I can't give you a pay raise."
John: "... oh... well then, can you give Steve a pay cut?"

Fatigue is gone very soon... I don't think I saw anything saying gathering fatigue would remain?

As was stated in our most recent gathering Q&A, we don't currently have any plans to change the gathering limitations that are in place.
