Sooo.... After several times wiping to the Deepvoid Slave, I'm kinda at a loss. Anyone know how to kill it effectively?

You might want to wait a week or so before trying to attempt a strategy thread. Most people are still trying to gauge their impressions on the patch and the changes.

I admit tho the dungeons are hard. And they require a lot of good teamwork and competent players. We've wiped a couple times but had some success with a more balanced party setup so I would recommend being more selective when you form your party. Its not like before where you can throw together anyone and still manage to kill things. Also, buy some potions, especially for mage mp regeneration, from the grand company stores cuz they are quite handy in the dungeons.

Hey, I tried it 2 more times with my LS and we did 1 farming run, and 1 boss run. Anyway, what we discovered, is that the assistants that he has floating around, will do some decent AoE damage repeatedly. But they don't move except when they all warp at the same time. And when they warp they can teleport to the inner circle or the outer ring, and will do their AoE damage there. So if they teleport on the outside ring, you must stay in the middle circle. And the same, if they're on the inner circle, you kite/fight boss on the outside ring.

Also, we think if you just kite the boss and have archers and mages doing healing/dot/nuking, and each person kiting when they have hate. The reason we think kiting will work, well, is because he does his drop-down slam move that he seems to be able to spam and does heavy damage to people. So with all ranged and mages, you should be able to avoid damage entirely if done right, except at engagement of course. So try kiting inside circle and outside ring.

Let me know if anyone tries this and has it work/fail please. *^.^*

I think Battleregimen is sorely needed to fight the Ogre and Boss. Normal damage is just pathetic on them, need x8 WS/Magic BR ASAP.

Straight tank the ogre. Its moves are cone AOE so have any DD stand to its side. They won't get hit from the attacks if they stand in the right spot. The strategy about moving to the outer/inner ring is correct (opposite the ghosts). If anyone other than the tank pulls hate at the start the bodies will pile up or MP will be wasted. The more mages/archers you have the better. Good luck.

The boss AFTER the ogre is the hard one.

Once you get the strat down for ogre, he is pretty easy.

Good luck guys ^^

Seems people would rather be told how to do things than enjoy figuring them out.

Sense of accomplishment? Wtf is that?

XD

Ill share the info on how to kill everything in a few days. Relax people.

I agree with Doctormog here, SE finally gives some challenging content that requires ACTUAL team work, and people just want to be told what to do? This is what's fun about new content that not everyone knows all the strats, actually beating it without any tips. Keep plugging away at it, if I had high enough job levels I'd be all over it and having fun.

I would agree with you if you didn't go full cookiecutter mode on that ogre boss. Range(d/rs) only? orz

Haha, I'm not looking for any handouts here. Just made the thread to let people share opinions and see what will and won't work. Trial and error, etc. Of course the idea is to have fun, but no need to rag on people who want to share ideas and different strategies ok? ^^

And good luck on the drop!

The strategy is real simple. Tank him on the ramp, let tank get hate, keep cures on him and eventually let your archers and DD go in on the ogre. After the ogre is the hard **** part!
