How to level after the patch?Follow

I just don't get how I'm supposed to level now that leve-linking isn't an option. At lvl 25 doing the lvl 30 guild leves I get 1k skill points for completion and 250~ exp a kill. Even doing 8 leves that's hardly half a level at 25. At that rate it would take years to get to 50.

Is there any good way to level up now?

Leve link party 5 star everything. Don't worry about what leve you are doing either - the shorter the better. Just pick up all leves for 2 camps and spam through them as fast as you can.

Even doing lower level leves at 3-5 stars I get roughly the same or less sp. Doing the level 25 behest at lvl 25 gives me 90 sp a kill and only 800 on the completion.

Getting ~1/3 of a rank every 36 hours would not take years to get from 25-50, it'd take:

1 rank every ~5 days = 4 months to get to 50. Assuming you never did any grinding, questing, or raids whatsoever, only an hour or so of leves every day and a half.

Seems fine to me, honestly; but I have always liked the grind.

I didnt see the broken water leves being that bad. I was R39 Thm doing two star leves and although the mobs were giving me 170-220 sp per kill the skill point bonus when i handed in the leve was anywhere from 2500-3500 which kinda evens it out a bit.

You can get 5-6k for finishing for a proper level 5 star leve.

At broken water i'm getting between 2500-4000, I think i got 4500 a few times but yeah i wont count those. Usually I get 3500. I'm a 44 lancer.

I don't know if its that low at level 25. But yeah at 44 it'll take me about 4 leve cycles or so to level up again, 6 days isn't that bad of 30 minute play periods.

I think if you really want to get into the game and level at a faster rate expect to join parties. Anyone else notice the little clusters of monsters that they made, and didn't yoshi-p mention something about chain kill exp?

Try a grind party. Didn't I read somewhere that SE was trying to make this a more viable leveling option?

And... I'm pretty certain you can still link leves and get decent SP. I think you can actually link up to 7 leves now in a single go. Please, correct me if I'm wrong. I'm being lazy and not bothering to dig up the posts that describe these changes.

The biggest deterrent to a traditional "party" is the lack of any real way to flag / seek / invite.

Why they have yet to re-implement FFXI's brain-numbingly simple function of party-making I'll never know.

The current system of "seeking invite" on a job, and hoping people will be searching for that job -- it's just too cumbersome.

Where the **** is my /sea all invite.

In some respects I think the new party search system is superior to FFXI's, but the bottom line is, if people don't use it, it's worthless. And people don't use it.

In that light, I support the idea that the tried and true FFXI party search system should be brought back.

Just got like 32K (or was it 36...) SP for one of the Gridania Missions!

Alot of the quests are giving between 500 and 3k SP with most around the 1.5k mark so that's viable as well. I might start turning in quests on one of the crafts or classes I really don't feel like leveling.
