I see this said alot on the official forums. But i never see any real info about where or what levels they are, some had said there was a camp for every level range. Does any one know exactly which ones have which level ranges? I did see that the Alter one southish of the Hala gate in thanalan is around 28+ or at least the guys out side the camp were around that level. I couldnt get close enough to try an target any inside the camp its self.

Other wise does any one know of any good camps in the 20-30 level ranges? Last night we were trying a few different places an the sp really just seemed pretty minute. In a full party killing mobs at least 10 levels higher all we were getting was around 150 to 175sp a kill. I hope thats not the norm now.

You can try the Eft in Treespeak/Nine Ives, if you can kill it quick enough in a party. Should give at least 300 SP and can last to mid 30s.

Went took a look at those around tree speak and while they look really cool an would be way more interesting to grind on them vs squirrels. I dont think any group i could get my hands on would be able to handle a level 46 mob. My best class is only 22 anyway.

I actually think these are viable grinding locations depending on your rank.

For example:

There are two locations in Eastern Thanalan. The Amalj'aan Encampment at 27, 47 and the Amajl'aan Altar at 33, 41.

Both of these camps have the same set up. Outside of the encampment are Amalj'aa ranking 30-32. Inside are Amalj'aa Drubers ranking 48-49.

As a 39 MRD, I was able to solo a 49 Druber for about 350-450 SP per kill. With a healer, it'd be a great place to gain some SP. But there was too much downtime between kills to solo.

I just had a group there at the alter, we were killing the lower levels one just fine but then they stopped spawning. Trying to find out if any of the other camps have that same set up but so far none do, both in the LL area are 48+ havnt checked the other area yet though, seems like thanalan might be the only one with lower levels.

That Amalj'aa spot in East Thanalan looks nice but the rank 50 mutt spawns the 2 Rank 70+ lizards north suck the fun out of that spot bring some extra eyes and keep your back to the mountain because they do push back attacks that knocks you into other mobs.Smiley: twocents

My guild just did another group there, and it works well for a quick couple levels. But now at 24 the sp is starting to thin out. But its still nice to kill stuff other then small rodents at least. And those guys do look neat, what we would do is clear one camp of the lower mobs then run to the other one an clear it, then go back an forth. Bit of a run but if you watch where your going you can avoid the high level mobs between camps.

I think the camp in the forest area (near treespeak) are around 40+ might be the next spot once my link shell can handle em. Im not much of a grinder but it is a bit more fun when your fighting mobs that give a bit of SP an look really neat.

One more option is Hippogryph in Coerthas, just follow the road West from Camp Dragonhead. They give somewhat lower SP but they don't aggro and relatively "harmless" with only AoE Stun. Just don't cross the bridge at the end, over the bridge are r45 Peistes.

You can also go to Nanawa Mines and search for the room with Ahriman, they are quest mobs, so they spawn relatively fast. Just be VERY careful, because they can quickly swarm you and they hit for a ton with their magic, at your level at least. The Skeletons in Nanawa Mines are also decent SP, and they should still drop Eye-Patch on Incapacitated Head, just beware of their Magic Attack.

Just north of Camp Broken Water also spawns hordes of r40 Pus Gnat, quite decent SP. When fighting, remember to run away when they disappear, their Thunder hurts. Just slightly North-East of Camp Broken Water is an unmarked Amalj'aa Camp but I think they are r46ish.

Usually if the mobs look nasty, they give better SP compare to small rodents of same rank. And they tend to be real nasty as they look.
