We are delighted to announce further tweaks to the combat system. In order to balance necessary changes with the costs of healing spells such as Cure and Sacrifice we have doubled the cost of all attack spells and halved their damage to ensure maximum frustration.

Auto-attack accuracy will now be based off how many times our trained monkey can hit a watermelon while wearing a blindfold. During testing, this proved to be at least one in every twenty swings.

We have greatly upgraded the special effects on all abilities. All weapon skills will no longer require TP to use and have a cooldown of 10 seconds. To counterbalance this, neither will they deal any damage. We feel that having flashy effects gives players more than enough reason to use them in combat.

Statistics will now have a far greater impact on combat ability and crafting. Players are advised to rebalance their statistics upon logging in. Vitality will still suck across all classes while remaining completely necessary for mages to waste points on, lest they find themselves with less than 400 hitpoints in combat.

In other news, our trained monkey managed to hit the watermelon again!

What will we face next I wonder?

To be fair, this exact mechanic was extremely entertaining in FFIX.

Probably a few things. Though, this is a possibility.

Checked with the devs about there being NMs and other high-level enemies near gathering points for certain levequests such as those found in "Mining Treespeak." Gathering point, and monster placement adjustments will both take place soon. We will also be making adjustments to some of the Halatali and Camp Iron Lake levequests where there exist similar problems.

That crap happens all over the place. It's not just a few areas, but there are bad spots at pretty much every tier of gathering leves. Even Emerald Moss can be brutal. Especially for a new player mainly gathering. They probably don't have the classes leveled to switch to and defeat the mobs in the way.

Daddy Longlegs was having quite the time with my Botanist at Nophica's. I can deal, especially since the gathering SP is comparatively through the roof, but it can be a headache.

Yup, he's presented me with some issues a few times on that leve. One of the miner ones sometimes gets around him too.
