Anyone else noticing lately there are a lot more people playing?

I know at the start of all this, myself, along with most of my friends, bought the collectors edition, and were severely disappointed with the way the game played out. So we quit!

I never completely left eh ffxiv scene, periodically checking the forums here, or lodestone, just to see whats going on.

Well recently my small group for friends decided to give it another shot, and I was surprised (pleasantly) to see some of my old LS to be back as well.

Has anyone else noticed more people on now? or am I just nuts

I see almost no shouts for raids, none for leve share, and none for grinding since the patch. I'm on Kashuan.

There are more people but the numbers are starting to drop off again. Many people came back to try out the golden patch and some of them stayed, atleast for now. Last week I saw 6 people in my 2 LSs that I hadnt seen in months this week only 2 of them are still logging on and 1 of them I havent seen in the past day or so.

what do you think would bring these people back?

one of my biggest peve's is the ability for anyone to wear any armor, and the lack of information it gives you for wearing the wrong stuff

i still dont know why i shouldn't use the lvl 30 somthing sword as my lvl 15 glad

it seems like its to difficult just to understand how the stats work and a hard lvl ratting would help out a lot

also, an actual AH please to help boost the crafting economy! :)

I'm on Kashuan as well, no shouts or parties for anything lol... Luckily I'm in a linkshell with ~10-12 active players. Maybe they'll stick around, maybe they won't.

I agree with this. A lot of us are looking for uniqueness among the classes, and everyone wearing the same gear makes me feel indifferent.

I'm still surprised at that being one of the most brought up complaints. I dunno, it's just not a big deal to me like it seems to be for others. Not really something important I'm looking at when deciding if I'd pay for the game monthly. -shrugs-

Anyway, isn't that where the jobs come in?

Grid definately has more active people, but the higher tier camps are still dead... It's a shame too as I'm quite positive I'm getting more SP than perviously at the R40 camps... I've netted 4 ranks in about 3 leve resets (and 60k SP I got from turning in missions), it sure would be nice to link but I'm guessing most of the R40+ folks are PTing with thier LSs or doing Leves in UlDah still.

But everything except the Wards in Grid have pretty much quadroupled in activity during my play time.

After 2AM EST lots of groups of 2 or more log on and hit the easy to walk to 30 to 40 leves areas. It's funny when you run back to town and see how many real people you pass lately "not the standing server load groups SE warp from camp to camp". Getting a negleted behest bonus is impossible around that time.

Maybe it's just Besaid but Ul'Dah is getting more and more shouts with people looking for SP party. Since the patch people are now looking for groups from as low as r20 all the way to 49 be it raptor party or Dungeon party. During the weekend hardly a minute goes by without a shout or two looking for party.

Lots of people came back to see the "golden patch". Those who thought it fixed it enough to stay have stayed. Those who were unimpressed with the patch have left.

The good news is that the game is slowly improving and will be able to retain more and more players. The bad news is twofold. People expect change now (or at least soon). And perhaps more importantly, the core game mechanics just don't appeal to enough gamers.

I've been playing daily since the patch (previously only played every leve reset)and five of my R/L friends have returned wit ha similar fever for the game.

We've been having a lot of fun with NM hunting and quests, and haven't started doing the raids, yet.
