does the red repair debuff discourage anyone else from playing? I hate having to repair every hour or less than an hour if u play hard enough. I dont want to lvl certain crafts I might not like just because I need to repair out on the field.

1. make things more durable.
2. make it quicker to repair.
3. remove durability/repair.

im just ranting cuz im bored and dont feel like playing cuz of the debuff lol.

Really... The debuff makes you want to not play...

Draw over it on your screen then with a black sharpie.

Sometimes I think people assume this game is failing because of ITS downfalls, (which is sometimes the case)

Other times I thin the game is failing because people are retarded.

Today is the latter.

Yeah, the repair system isn't that great right now, but you do have dozens of instant teleports to anywhere in the world... so it shouldn't that big of a deal, either.

I'd rather lose a substantial amount of gear wear than lose EXP on dying. Maybe it's just me.

If you need to repair your gear after an hour of play, you might want to start looking at gear that better favors your class and rank.

Die less.
When you die try and get a raise, using return rapes durability.
Dont be dumb, theyve already simplified the repair system enough..do what anyone who hates crafting does (me, all my crafts are 0) Seek repair and put up the darkmatter required to repair your item and it will be done by a nice person.

Sometimes I'm just wondering, people only react negatively when it's named negatively. See, people will make fuss about a debuff for gear damage. Yet I bet they will notice nothing or even praise the system IF instead of gear damage debuff, right at the start SE nerf all gear effectiveness by that same debuff amount and add a "buff" called "enhancement" to gear through crafter.

I don't reply much on this forum at all. But I had to on this one. 100% what Kirby said. If you use rank appropriate gear and try not to die, your gear lasts a long time. Remember, there IS a penalty for dying. If you have a sword on that's 10 ranks too high and you die, goodbye durability.

I was discussing this with a friend the other day.

I personally do not have an issue with the item wear in general as I think it adds another layer to the overall experience and it also provides some additional activity for the crafting community and it adds more depth to the economy in general. I DO however have an issue with how it's implemented. I mean if it's intention is to add more realism to the overall experience fine but how are my shoes getting serious wear and tear as I stand in one spot fishing for 3 hours? Yes if I fought some seriously tough mobs for a few days straight so that my shield and sword are a bit nicked up and need to be hammered straight again that makes sense... but the hat and gloves on an Archer? Really? It just needs some more thought put into it. And if it proves to be too complicated? Then remove it entirely. Sometimes a good idea is best left an idea if it can not be implemented in a productive or useful manner. At the moment I don't think it's quite there yet.

People can debate on how quickly things degrade. Some want the game to be a breeze and see any impediment to easy play as a problem. I'm not in that camp. I prefer a challenge. But don't just make things difficult for the sake of it. Give it a firm foundation in rationality. Have it serve some kind of meaningful purpose. I also agree with people who have noted that wearing rank appropriate gear (I've found that if it's within 5 or so levels it qualifies) than it reduces the wear noticeably. But this does not address the incongruous nature to which it applies to all of the items your character wears and takes seemingly no heed to the job you are playing.

I just personally think that if it is going to be in the game than have it make sense. I think that more people would begin to get on board with the system as a whole if it were not so illogical in how it functions. At least I know I'd be more into it.

Yeah I haven't had to repair anything after playing for two days. Most of my gear is still at 60% or better, and lots of it had wear before I started.

Maybe die less?
