Brand new to FFXIV and looking for the most active serverFollow

#1 Aug 12 2011 at 9:53 AM Rating: Decent
I started with Rabanastre initially, but I saw very few people playing on that server. Next I tried Selbina and there were plenty of players, but not a very chatty bunch. I'm trying to find a more lively server and what not, especially for someone in the EST. I don't want to keep deleting and restarting my character, so any help would be great! Thanks guys!

Not to be a downer, but I don't think you are going to find what you're looking for on that scale. People in general are not very lively on most servers because the population just isn't there yet. If you want a lively, chatty environment it will most likely come from whatever linkshell you decide to join. Try to seek out an active linkshell rather than focusing on the overall state of the server.

Another shouldn't take very long for you to create a character in the most popular city on each server(probably Ul'dah) and feel out the activity. My advice is to pick several of the servers with the highest population, start in Ul'dah and try to find people to talk with. The population you are waiting on has either given up on XIV or they are waiting until it's worth paying for to join.

Its personal preference and all, but yes we need to educate WoW players that this is OUR game, these are Characters and not Toons. Time to beat that into them one at a time.

I'd imagine Ul'dah has all the people you'll want regardless of server. They may not be chatty, but they'll be there standing around just for you.

Selbina players are plenty chatty, the thing is most of the people are talking in their linkshell vent servers. Find a linkshell and you will find conversation.

Thanks guys. I just don't know my way around the place yet, but again, thanks.
