hello everyone, i just stopped by because i was thinking of upgrading my computer to play FF14 better. ill give you guys some current specs and what i was thinking of getting.

OS - Commodore BASIC 1.0
RAM - 4kb
CPU - MOS Technology 6502 @ 1 MHz
GPU - discrete TTL video circuit, 9" monochrome monitor, 40×25 character display

as you can see this set up isn't to bad, and i just upgraded my internet connection to a 56k phone line connection so i'm pretty ballin' right now, but i want to be able to enjoy the game as it was meant to.

i would like to know what you guys think i should upgrade first. i have a budget of around 20 dollars so i don't think i will be upgrading the screen just yet so if i can salvage that, it would be preferable.

i was actually thinking of buying a new better computer if you guys thought that would be better so i would need to save up a little more. i was looking at this model here but i'm not sure if it's worth the cash or if i should wait a bit until the next gen tech comes out.

here it is: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Apple_iicb.jpg

the specs on that bad boy are the following:

OS - ProDOS
RAM - 128kb
CPU - 65C02 @ 1.023 MHz
GPU - High-Resolution: 280 × 192 (6 colors)

i just want to make sure this one is worth my money before i go out and unload a few dollars on that guy.

any ideas or suggestions are welcome, thanks in advance!

Its personal preference and all, but yes we need to educate WoW players that this is OUR game, these are Characters and not Toons. Time to beat that into them one at a time.

Should be able to run the game on max np. Only thing I'd suggest upgrading is maybe getting some flame stickers on it. I mean everyone knows that flame stickers make both cars and computers faster, that's just common sense.

And lots of lights, lots of different colored lights. Oh and fans too, lots of fans and lots of lights. Then you'll be screamin.

Except, no one has ever really come up with any proof that he actually said that.

I have a Commodore 64 and it runs Dizzy Prince of the Yolkfolk in 32 colours np, you should be fine with this setup.

Only problem is loading all 84,000 cassettes every time you want to fire up the game. Pain in the ****.

With that spec, you need a very powerful PSU and equally powerful cooler. I have no idea about the PSU but I think you should buy an ice box and put yours in there, otherwise it may burns down your house!

Of course its recommended you upgrade to the Commodore 128 to take advantage of the CPM mode using the Z80 CPU.
