[dev1130] Disciple of the Land Stealth Ability
* The following feature, planned for patch 1.19, is still in development, and therefore subject to change.
•Patch 1.19 will see the ability “Coeurl Step” (name tentative) implemented. Exclusive to Disciples of the Land, the ability allows players to conceal their presence from enemies. The action can be used repeatedly, and the effect will not wear off even if players engage in gathering. The stealth effect, however, comes at the cost of reduced movement speed.
* The action cannot be used in certain areas (such as city-states, dungeons, and instanced raids).
* Certain enemies are capable of piercing and even nullifying the stealth effect.
•Coeurl Step
Coeurl Step comes in four levels as follows:
•Coeurl Step I
Learned at level 8. Renders you undetectable by enemies level 20 and below.

•Coeurl Step II
Learned at level 18. Renders you undetectable by enemies level 30 and below.

•Coeurl Step III
Learned at level 28. Renders you undetectable by enemies level 40 and below.

•Coeurl Step IV
Learned at level 38. Renders you undetectable by enemies level 50 and below.
•Functionality
•Once executed, the stealth effect will remain indefinitely.
However, the effect will wear off if you reuse the action, incur enmity, enter certain areas, or change classes.
•Movement speed will be reduced to walking speed.
•The action cannot be used while incurring enmity, nor while on chocoback.
•The action is not subjected to a recast time.
•The stealth effect nullifies any effects present that grant increased movement speed.

Ugh... walking speed?

That is a ROUGH penalty. I guess its better than nothing but SE REALLY doesn't want us avoiding their murder chokepoints on the way to Mor Dhona.

Walking speed looks rough, but SE is trying to balance the scales.
Considering the different levels of this skill with the first level i doubt anyone will wander to far off.
Not much good it will do you in Mor Dhona, mobs are 50+ and last level covers <50

Do we get Critical Stealth Gather when in Stealth mode? Oh wait wrong game...

Good thing is, Mor Dhona doesn't have any gathering point. But still, can't evade Mosshorn!

Yeah, it's pretty obvious this is only to help DOL and not get used by other classes.

I was thinkin' maybe just use the movement speed abilities with it to counter that walking speed stuff, but then got to the bottom = (

eh this will be handy for most reasons why you would use it. It is basically there so you can fish beside a wolf. No need to run around with it on. Good for players, good for game design (they won't have to worry so much about placing aggressive mobs in back woods areas)

It will also still be handy for getting to some of the more remote aetherial gates etc for those of us who don't have level 50 battle classes.

Unfortuneately the only times (personally) I have needed to get past a mob to gather is when the mobs are 50+. ><

Eh, I've had poorly placed lowbie wolves annoy me before, so, yeah.

The only exception has been NMs, but other than them, I've never had an agressive 50+ mob hang out near a node.

Where are you gathering as a 36 BTN that has level 50 mobs? Unless it is bloatbelly?

I think that's an awesome price to result tradeoff. You shouldn't need it on 100% of the time except when you're actually gathering, which you aren't walking during. Just depends on how long it lasts I suppose.

Hehe, your talking to the person that was farming Coerthas at rank 1 botanist back in September of last year. I farm anywhere.

I will admit though that most places are free enough from aggroing mobs 50+ but there are a few places that annoy me. However, at least this ability will allow you to easily complete the Rank 36 Botany Guild Quest. The indefinite duration is nice too. I can't complain too much I suppose. (And it looks like they will probably add higher level versions of it later since the highest Rank of the skill is obtainable at what... Rank 38?)

What's this ? Getting all the eluders was one of the biggest disappointments in this game. You use one eluder on one mob they all share the same timer and it has a 10 minute recast timer. It's like FF11 has the patent on a few good ideas and won't let FF14 use them ,potions and true sight worked fine. This still wont work on those Rank 60+ NM Gobbies that pop in Treespeak and make your DOL say their weird names as they kill you.

Seriously, put sneak and invis in the game already. I feel like making some gil on Alchemist.

I don't mind the walking speed; I'll just activate the ability when I think I'll need it instead of all the time.

Yeah, they are probably making it this way to help discourage that....

This is nice and all and it'll really help on DoL classes but I'd still love to see sneak and invisible items implemented that will allow you to sneak past mobs of any level.

Then again, I suppose they'll add Coeurl Step V and so on when/if they raise level caps.

Will there be some kind of invisible effect for when you're under the effects of "Coeurl Step"?

We're looking into having a kind of half/semi-visible effect on your character.

Will we be attacked by NMs that are higher than rank 50?

It depends on the specific NM. So be on the watch out for very strong enemies that are nearby!
