Do anyone no what to do? I kill mobs and no XP it never botherd me before the time wasted and no XP but i'm throwing good arrows away on my r25 archer. Why do we have to kill these guys when the two NPCS say nothing about a reward?

Is that troll speak, or are you asking if people know what to do?

Last I heard, there's a chest that appears after the last enemy gets killed, and rewards you with a couple of Deaspected Crystals.

after the attack is done, the npc's say there is a reward waiting for you, there is a chest that pops where they are.

I enjoy doing it if only for the chance to fight Centurions.

You're also randomly rewarded with +2/+3 low level gear. Like I got Bronze Chainmail +3.

mmmm gear do you have to stay the entire event and get the chest at the real end I got wore down over the length of the repeated attacks? I did 2 behest and some camp crafting while fighting these tough (to my r25 gimp archer).I only did the event because the NPC kept shouting. ___Thanks for the info Ramsey Sylph I just went to sell stuff and it had armor like you said, I haven't opened a chest in Tranquil so i don't know who gave it to me.

The purpose of the Desaspected Crystals is to exchange them for wither shards or a Perigrine Helm. You need 30 for the helm and considering you seems to get around 5-8 each time you would need to fight 5-6 invasions.

The HQ gear drops from the mobs themselves. I partied with some LS mates and a bunch of randoms taking part and a Cotton Cowl +3 dropped into someone's loot list at one point. After you are successful there will be a notice flash up that the Garleans have retreated, then another saying that a treasure chest has spawned. You just need to run back to the guy with the chocobo to find the chest and get your crystals.

The other 'reward' so to speak is an accomplishment on your Lodestone History page (if you are into reaching accomplishments). There are 3 you can get:
Empire Strikes back - for talking to Alfgar or Roysia when they appear and taling through each option
A Taste of Victory - for the first time you take part in and defeat a Garlean Force
Rhapsody in White - for exchanging crystals for the Helm

It is kid of like a random behest. There is no schedule for it - it can happen at any time but it consists of a place nearby to a r20 Camp (Horizon, Tranquil, Bloodshore). A guy with a chocobo will appear close to the camp. If you talk to him you can get involved (bound by duty) in the event. There will be a host of Garlean mobs and wolves nearby, so you can just start killing them. Once you clear the area, more will start running down in an endless stream. At some point (not sure if it is based on length of time taken or amoutn of mobs killed) you will get a notice that the Garleans have been vanquished. A treasure chest will spawn back at the start with your reward.

Here is a video

Presumably like the guys shoting about the invasion and the whole Seventh Umbral Era it is a prelude for the next stage of the storyline in the game.

Thanks for all the info Smiley: smile the helmut in town popped up one or two patches ago for 30 crystals the same time leves and normal mobs stopped dropping deaspect crystals. It's a shame the ward is selling crystals for tens to hundreds of thousands apiece since then. I'm stuck at 20 crystals.

You also get a Lodestone achievement for completion. (Also occurs at Camp Bloodshore and Horizon.)

A Taste of Victory

Grover Eyeveen (Figaro) has helped fend off an imperial assault; however you fear there may be more to come.

I still hear people in game here and there saying they seen this, but still no word on the timing of when it occurs? It seems not often enough.

I'm still wondering how to get the achievement, I've done it many times, and always talked to the NPC after, but he just yammers on for a long time that the Empire is coming, then vanishes, never does he acknowledge that they've been defeated. Kind of frustrating.

Which means you ran out of time. You need to kill enough Imperial Troops within a hidden allocated time (starting from when they first appear on map), if you succeed you get the chest + achievement.

I've done it quite a few times, and always got the chest, just never got the achievement, and the NPC never acknowledge my having defeated them.

Never ran out of time and failed to receive the chest.

I've gotten a chest w/o achievement, also. Oh well, not something that I'm going to lose sleep over.

I was at the leves desk in Uldah last week and some NPC guy shouted in say for ten minutes "The Imperials have withdrawn..etc". I ran around the area in game and couldn't find him.I found a pic of him in ZAM NPC database he had crystals floating behind him with no info. I just checked my recent scribblings and the name Algar/Uldah is the closest thing i found to a nameSmiley: frown.Just imagine how great this random event would be for linkshell holders in the game if there was a main city shout before each attack and not just at the camp.

I think
1.18 = Imperial attack at lvl 20 Camps
1.19 = Imperial attack at Camp Glory
Correct me if I'm wrong, but since 1.19 Imperial stop attacking at lvl 20 Camps and only attack at Camp Glory. If that's right, they should still only attack in Camp Glory or a new location now since it's 1.20.

That achievement is worded very strangely - [Grover Eyeveen] has fended off an attack, but you fear (as in the reader?) that more may come? o_O

Many thanks guys. I was so confused as to where to go.

Is there a timing for this like Behest? I have been standing there for ages lol (didn't bring craft materials with me!) and nothing is happening.

What I take it, is that in 1.18 the Empire attack on lvl 20 Camps were just distraction so that they (Empire) could sneak attack on Darkhold (you will know this through the quest dialogues). Afterward in 1.19 their attack in Camp Glory is linked with the appearance of Ifrit.

I'm wondering, as I'm a little bored just standing around, do they shout when they arrive and how far can you hear that shout? I was doing some mining up here while I wait but have to keep coming back to check.

They used to shout in towns and the say chat shows near the leve desk exits ,in Uldah just outside across from repairs in Gridania on the road next to the chocobo guy.The last four times I caught it it was in Coerthas. You and 2 or 3 others be there aoe mage blasting dozens of mobs, just plain to many to fight near rank 25.The worst part was the area you go east but if you go a little north or a little further east level 60 and 70+ roaming regular mobs hang around. It's not worth the 6 tele to get there and it ends with no warning.
