Spell damage, int, accessories, spell accuracy vs piety.Follow

I'm a 25 conjurer and I'm noticing that my fire2/blizzard2/etc don't feel all that strong considering they cost double mana and have +50% cast time.

Does intellect affect them at all? like enough to matter?

Is magic accuracy a huge help? the 31 rings I'll get later are very expensive.

Is piety 1 point equal to magic accuracy?

Are +3 magic accuracy rings better than the +5 int (or piety) rings at 31?

Are these rings even good? they are very pricey compared to my 15hp bracers/4dodge earrings which don't really do much other than give me 30health and 8 dodge.

Thanks a lot for helping me, I'm currently physical 16 with 56vit/34int/36mind

I'll have a go at answering this although you have to understand that attribute points are still broken overall and need a desperate fix which I hope is happening soon.

It has been found that increasing your main stats (apart from MND and VIT) has very small affect on your spells damage etc - it does affect it but not by as much as you would think - so stat rings etc with PIE and INT are not as useful as at first was thought.

MND directly affects how much MP you have, how much you can heal for and your MAG Def.

VIT directly affects how much HP you have and increases your survival chance.

These are the only two stats that seem to pay dividends at the minute.

I think (posted on these forums) tests have recently shown that 1 point is not equal to magic acc.

I would definitely go with the +3 Mag Acc rings and MAG Pot items too.

Eva - hp - and even up to a point MP stats raised through rings/gear etc are not as worth it as Mag Acc and Mag Pot.

There are a lot of people on these forums that have views and I'm sure you may get a number of them posting so like the rest of us you are going to have to 'play it by ear' and see what works best for you.

This thread, "Stats. What do they do?", asks a similar question. Ultimately, it's important to note that stats barely do anything at all and that they're getting an overhaul in about thirty-two days. For these two reasons alone, there's really no need to care about them for now.

In other words, wait for the stat overhaul; wait for jobs; wait for class balancing. All of these are coming in about a month. and stats, well, they're probably broken at the moment, anyway.

Yeah apparently stats don't do much yet but if you would like to know when you stop gaining HP and MP through VIT and MND at any given level use this.

Edit: Also as someone mentioned it's best to just skip the HP/MP gear and go for the main stats like accuracy on melee for instance.

I on Archer go with accuracy then defense whenever I can.

That's the theory at least. In practice, there's really very little difference between having a large amount of INT or a small amount when it comes to attack spells, and class rank seems to be the sole domain of enfeebling spell accuracy. As a previous poster mentioned though, the devs are aware that they have a minimal, if noticeable, effect and have plans to overhaul things to make it worth putting those extra points into INT.

Whether they succeed is anyone's guess, but it would be nice to have a use for those +INT items for a change.

Sadly the way things are balanced right now you're better off getting Banish II & Scourge II from Thm for Con.

If you want to go the DOT route I suggest you check out this guy's blog:

He proved how Piety actually affects DoTs.

People need to stop talking about how wha wha wha vit and mnd only matter, because it's not true (-_-)

Why the **** is banish/scourge's power over twice that of elemental magic?

I leveled up thau, was doing 300+ nukes up to 20.

I learned scourge and banish 2 and am now doing 450-650 damage on level 33 puks at 24, while my conjurer rank 2 nukes for 200-300s and that's generous.

Gear is equal, weapon levels are the same.
