There's some discussion on the Japanese official forums about what the silver details are around the moon on the moonlet...

Relevant image here.

There was a dev response, but it merely hinted that whatever it was, it would be narratively significant in the future.

Some people said it looked like a bird in flight, or a cloud, but honestly I have no idea looking at it even close up. Anyone else?

Since FFXIV, I no longer believe that SE plans ahead far enough to give that earring any kind of noteworthy significance. I still remember the hints from pre-release: "Yes, there are secrets in the game's logo! See if you can find them!"

The answer: Oh, the weapons are weapons that vaguely appear in the game, which we kind of knew already, and the guy in the centre is... well, he's just a generic guy...

While I have serious doubts about the rest of the team, the actual narrative and world design teams have delivered in my opinion. I love the world and narrative, (setting) there's just a lack of content.

So the one group of guys and gals I will believe are the writers and world directors.

That being said, I still have no idea what it is, and if they mean the story of another useless event I will GIGA DRILL CRUSHAAAAAA the mod.
