Hey guys, haven't been here in a while, but I figure it's about time to check back into Eorzea, especially come 1.19. Problem is, I'm running off of a college internet network, and so the official FFXIV patcher doesn't work. Can you guys give me a link and instructions on where/how to download the patch so I don't have to go through the official patcher? Thanks in advance.

You can attempt to use a torrent program like BitTorrent or whatever, iirc. Someone should know details.

Uni networks block torrents almost always.

Then maybe some nice person will host the file in a .zip on Mediafire or something for you.

I would imagine that any network blocking games would block a torrent also.

Wish I knew how, I would do so.

Thanks, but one more question. Will I need to download and copy all patches or just the most recent one(s)?

Just everything since you last patched the game. If you have never patched it, then I believe you'll need all of them.

There's a bit of a problem with this approach though on a college network, you'll still need to connect to "confirm" the patches, it takes a second, it may or may not give you a problem.

If it does you can try using a VPN to connect briefly to get a confirmation, then it will install the patches.

The best way I've found (and what I do when my girlfriend who lives on a University campus has to update) is to get someone to share the actual files that were changed/added since the update. You literally go into the game folders in the C drive and either use a program or manually find what files and folders have changed, and also the patch logs in the patch folders, then send them along.

You'd need a friend who lives off campus to do this for you though.

The reality is it blows *** to play this game on a campus. Try a VPN, it's probably the best solution. Or just bug the ******** in your IT department until they open the ports for the game.
