SA's Guide to Alchemy/Carpentry Updated. Guide to WVR otw.Follow

#1 Sep 11 2011 at 7:37 PM Rating: Good
Just wanted to let you know that I finally got around to updating my guides.

I have finished updating my Carpentry Guide, which to be honest, just really needed a facelift. I am starting on updating my Alchemy guide update now, so hopefully should be done today or tomorrow. And even though I was going to wait for patch 1.19 to start work on my Weaving guide, I am going to begin work on it as soon as I finish updating the Alchemy guide.

In between all of this I will be finishing the remodeling of the individual pages for each class now that I have finished creating the guild pages for each of them. As always, if you happen to visit one of my guides or any of the pages you happen to know I worked on and you see any errors or what not, feel free to let me know via PM or by posting in whatever thread I may have open at the time.

Thanks for all the support. I know many of you have contacted me from time to time in game thanking me or what not. I just want to let you know that I really appreciate the feedback, it helps keep me motivated to continue working on stuff that will hopefully help the community.

Hope everyone is having fun in game! Will update you all here as I finish work on the rest of the guides.

~S.A.

Assemble is not obtained automatically, you need to complete r30 Quest and buy it for 10,000 Guild Marks.

Yes, I was quite pleased with how smoothly leveling up Carpenter to 50 was.

Thanks for catching that. Was a copy & paste error.

Not that guides aren't appreciated by many people, but with crafting revisions right around the proverbial corner, don't you think that it may be a good idea to hold off on making new guides for a bit? I wouldn't want to see a slew of useless guides come the next patch; but, then again, maybe I have too much faith in SE in thinking that there will be truly significant changes.

Well like I mentioned before I was thinking of waiting for 1.19 to start work on the Guide to Weaving...however, getting one made now isn't such a bad idea. It will at least be relevant until then, and once the patch comes out, if any major changes are made, it will be to the skill up path, which only requires changing a small part of the guide. From what i understand the only major changes to crafting is that some recipes will be simplified (and so far most of the skill up recipes I use are fairly basic and unlikely to change) and there will be changes to how HQ items are made and the possible removal of +2/+3 items, iirc?

Either way, I am avidly playing once again with no plans what-so-ever of taking a break like I did previously. So I will be able to update my guides regularly (especially if a patch changes anything significant).

As far as my future guides (obviously the rest of the crafts I have yet to do) they will come at a later date and so I don't really need to worry about them for now.

I do appreciate your concern, however and will try my best to not let the community down! ^^

Oh, also, you either have to get Alchemist 50 or change your name to State Carpenter. I'm sorry, but rules are rules and there has to be some kind of order in these troubled times.

LMAO.

Soon enough. I always intended to take Alchemy to 50 first, but got **** blocked by SE when they lowered the Sheepskin > Lanolin synth. Had enough mats to get me well into my 40s then got screwed. And with the addition of fishing synths, I kinda just let it fall by the wayside and took up Carpentry since my Botany was already leveled. Now I am finishing up weaving for the same reason, but once I get 50 Weaver/50 Botanist, I will take up fishing and finish off Alchemy and start on Culinarian.

Thanks for the good laugh though! ^^;

Alchemy is really tough to get to 50, for me out of all 8 crafts I would say alchemy was the second hardest. Cooking is the hardest by far....big drop off then alchemy...big drop off then everything else.

So I almost had the rework done on my Alchemy guide, and go figure I fell asleep at my keyboard early this morning while I was working and some how lost all my work. xD So I am doing it all over again. /facepalm

Ok, so I managed to finish reworking the Alchemy guide, again! (Ugh, I still can't believe I lost all that work last night.) I have gone from the prior skill path to focusing on Fishing for Alchemy, since I gear my guides to take the "free" route whenever possible. Anywho, I may or may not add or change a few more things with the Alchemy guide over the next week. Either way, once 1.19 patch hits I will be reviewing my guides if any of the recipe changes allow for a new level path or what not. Now to start on the Weaver's Guide. This time I won't face plant the delete key, hopefully.
