I'm 21 Conjurer and can't seem to get a party, so is there any place that would be decent for soloing besides leve quests?

Main scenario quests, NPC quests, company quests. All give SP

Not exactly good advice. Main storyline/company quests are limited, and NPC quests take way too long to be effective. As a level 20 Conjurer just find some mobs that are higher level then you. Pretty sure you should be able to handle anything that is level 25. Just experiment a little bit til you find your stride, you might be able to fight monsters harder then that. Someone might be able to give you more specific information, but I certainly would NOT do quests (of ANY kind) as my main source of xp. FFXIV left that path behind. (Thank god.)

If you plan to solo Conjurer, then start levelling Thaumaturge to 20.

Stygian Spikes and Siphon MP are a must if you don't want to be standing still waiting on MP all day.

Also, Banish and Scourge are much better than CON's nukes currently, so just get THM to 22 for Scourge II and Banish II if you want to kill things at any decent speed.

Perhaps things will change with 1.19 (Friday if we're lucky), but currently, the best way to be a mage is to get both classes to 20.

Sure it is. Unfortunately, after the changes, rank 20 leves and below aren't exactly the greatest in terms of good SP. When he gets to rank 25 (which he can probably manage to get if he or she hasn't caught up with all of the quests), he can start doing rank 30 leves which are better and start to give a decent source of SP.

I can't stand leveling a conjurer without transcendence(thm affinity, unlocked at THM-36) to power up banish, scourge and sacrifice to 90% efficiency.

You can actually just afk in camp horizon and alt-tab back do a behest every hour, at level 27 they give me like 5k SP overall, at 21 you would be getting 4-7k depending on the party which is a level every 4 hours of doing absolutely nothing.

Also soloing is only about 25-33% the speed of duoing, so I suggest you find someone to help you as soloing is extremely slow and tedious.

Sure it is.

How so? He wants a place to solo not a few leves that will last at most an hour and then have to come back to the forum to post the same question.

Fantastic advice, soloing is extremely slow and tedious and group-based play is the way to go, but finding a group in this game is quite the daunting task.

As such the OP's situation is a perfect illustration of the pitfall a lot of players are finding themselves in. This game has been completely readjusted so as to provide a smoother ride up the leveling chart through group-based combat, yet the methods and tools available to facilitate such endeavors remain in their original disheveledness, borderline on completely useless.

Trying to advance your character in this game given the tools available to participate in group-based play is going to lead to more and more infrequent logins and quitting altogether unless they do something about the awful party searching mechanisms. Anyone who does not believe this to be true hasn't tried to level a character past rank 20 without a linkshell or active friend's list recently, and to simply suggest one acquire these items is just completely ignorant.

As a person who solo/duo quite often, I would suggest this guide.
http://ffxiv.zam.com/forum.html?forum=152&mid=1313640943179706025

I have been using it and has worked good so far, some mobs I may adjust and what not but nothing too far off.
