Regarding Square Enix Crysta Donations
Lodestone wrote:
From March 23rd to August 31st, 2011, Square Enix collected donations of Square Enix Crysta to help provide aid to the areas affected by the Tohoku earthquake. We are proud to announce that a total of 7,281,788 yen (donations of Crysta made from outside of Japan were converted to Japanese yen) was collected. Our heartfelt gratitude goes out to all those who participated and helped make this fundraiser a success.

On September 26th, 2011, all donations were given to the Japanese Red Cross Society's Tohoku earthquake relief fund.

We thank you for your support, and would like to express our sincerest wishes for the speedy recovery of all areas affected by this disaster.

That's pretty **** good actually. Is this purely from people who supported by donating Crysta through FFXIV?

Most likely FFXI and FFXIV combined.

That's a very good number in light of the currently low player base and the fact that the only incentive was the ability to do an anonymous good deed. We must remember that SE wasn't giving out any "special in-game hero crown" for a donation. It makes me a little proud to be a part of such a contentious player base, actually. Good job, everyone.^^
