yeah i remember him throwing his CE box. it was pretty foolish and unprofessional and it sorta looked like he realized that about 5 seconds too late. he's obviously trying to make his shows as polished and professional as possible. it was a dumb move and i think he knew it. most viewers probably thought it was awesome though, since most viewers are kinda simple-minded, from what i see in the live chatroom.
but yeah it was a little frustrating to see them all ragging on the chocobo video but not mentioning any of the positive changes or patches. the chocobo video IS pretty bad, but that's sort of the joke.
honestly, after watching every episode of the XIV show, it became clear to me that gary wanted to (and did)love the game, but slowly began to have doubts the more he talked to mike b. funny thing is, even mike b liked the game when he played it, he just got all hung up on no jump and copy-pasta. and then made that stupid video that probably contributed a lot more to the game's "downfall" than most people believe. media is powerful. internet media, doubly so, when you're talking gaming. and mike b saw a "career-making" opportunity, and he took it.
its a tough thing, because without that video i'm not so sure SE would have gotten off their asses about the terrain issue. but it also really stirred up the haters who were looking for a bandwagon to jump on. personally copy-pasta doesn't bother me as much as the general emptiness of zones. and, of course, the ridiculous grid zone of black shroud.
