I wanted to post a heads up that Yoshida has confirmed that "Those who defeat Ifrit in a party formed exclusively of members from their own Grand Company will earn greater rewards" only applies to the level 25+ battle (Bowl of Embers [Normal]) and not the high level one.

He also mentioned that the bonus earned when all 3 grand companies are represented in the party will be implemented in the future and again reiterates, please choose the Grand Company you want to. The choice is yours.

Yoshida has recently posted another follow-up to help alleviate any further concerns regarding the upcoming recipe changes. It really simplifies the solution and clarifies the issue, so please take a look!

Hi all, Producer / Director Yoshida here.

Again, I would like to apologize for the confusion that the list of recipes has caused. Let me take a moment to try to explain some things.

First, I believe the confusion was caused by the name “Items not Used in New Recipes” and the content of the list.

To clarify, “Items not Used in New Recipes” is a list of items that will not be used in any of the new recipes implemented with patch 1.19.

Content wise, I believe the following caused the confusion.

1. The list contained materials that may be used in high-end recipes in the future updates (patch 1.20 and beyond).
2. The list contained materials that were used in current recipes that remained untouched in patch 1.19.
3. The list itself contained multiple errors.

Let me provide an explanation for these 3 points.

#3: This was already pointed out by the community and they were addressed accordingly.

#1: We posted a topics announcement yesterday which contained a list of items that may be used in the future updates.

#2: We will be following up with another topics announcement regarding this matter. Below is a summary of the announcement.

Listed below are a list of items that will continue to be used in accessory, throwing weapons, alchemy, and cooking-related recipes in patch 1.19.

In conjunction with the upcoming topics announcement, we will be removing the items listed above from “Items not Used in New Recipes” and change the name of the list to “Items that are not used in patch 1.19.”

Even then there will be a factor that may confuse the community.
For example, the item “Scale Glue” will continue to be used in patch 1.19 so that item will be removed from “Items not Used in New Recipes.” However, you’ll notice that the item is listed under “Items no Longer Dropped by Enemies.” Some players may think “How am I supposed to obtain the now?” In reality, this just means that the “Scale Glue” will no longer be dropped by an enemy, but it can still be crafted with the current recipe.

I will continue to think of better ways to avoid any confusion within the community.

I apologize for the inconvenience this may cause. Please bear with us while we think of better ways to make the list less confusing. We will continue to make adjustments up until patch day and make sure everyone is comfortable with the changes. Thank you for your cooperation and understanding.

Honestly, what I'd like to see that would really clear this up for me is a tentative list of recipes they are planning on phasing out at a later date. I'm somewhat unsure what the overall plan is still. I like the new recipes, and I think that this is definitely a positive change, but I am not entirely sure I can see the long picture here yet. A "these are the items we are planning on making obsolete" list, as it were.

So I guess Silver Javelin Head can still be made in 1.19. Look like i will be plvling my leather with co9lor toad vamp instead asap... Actually I got a question, for example, Brown Toad leather vamp be be phrase out in 1.19. Does that mean I can no longer made it or it can still be made?

¤ If you have premade dyed leather you can grind vamps in 1.19

¤ If you have premade dye and skins you can make dyed leather to grind vamps in 1.19

¤ If you have a stash of dye bugs you can make dye and then make dyed leather to grind vamps in 1.19

¤ However, you can not go out and farm dye bugs after 1.19 as the items are being removed from gathering nodes, so if you don't have the base materials for dyed leather pre patch, you can't grind dyed vamps.

Eventually recipies that rely on materials that are dissapearing will be phased out naturally as the remaining stock held by players dissapear. Pretty much there are 4 categories of recipies

1) Completly new recipies for new items
2) Revised recipies of old items (Usually made out of less components but ending up with less end material made)
3) Old recipies of old items - Unnafected by mob drop/gathering changes
3) Old recipies of old items - Will be phased out as supply ends

I'm still completely confused.

What I'd like is simply a list of items that after 1.2 (after the old recipes are phased out) will not be used AT ALL. Basically a dead item list. Is that so much to ask for?
