Some of the new recipes are posted on lodestone.

http://lodestone.finalfantasyxiv.com/pl/recipe

They have the rank ranges so we have a new ball park, including the rank 51-60 range.

EDIT: spelled lodestone wrong

So did I.

Either they gave us recipes above 50 to help us level up close to 50, or we might have a level cap increase.

Or they are f***ing with us.

So, after a rapid scan, and if the list is everything that can be crafted...

Leatherworking lost a couple of items that became armorer or weaver (Vambraces, Jackboots, Breeches)

Armorer now have a pretty cool looking metal mask, called Mesail.

Goldsmith no longer has any ring or earrings,
Goldsmith lost Bandanas to Weavers.

Goldsmith and Leatherworking got new items, "ringbands".

And now I have to decide if I should level Blacksmith to make my own claws... :/

Edit #1: After doing some more searches through the list, I certainly hope this isn't a complete list of everything craftable, because there will be huge gaps with no armor of types that used to exist. Just checking all tunics show only the hempen variety...

These more simple recipes actually have me excited about crafting again. No more hunting down some obscure part that is only used in this one synth or anything. Just plain great. Saw a few(seemingly, like Iron Elmo I think) new pieces there that all seemed to have pretty reasonable craft levels to.

Really can't wait until tomorrow.

I think we are being reduced down to the following arrows:

Warped Arrow
Iron Arrow
Steel Arrow
Bronze Arrow
Mythril Arrow
Cobalt Arrow

You will still be able to make Silver arrows, provided you have to mats for the head, shaft, fletching and glue. Hopefully the new ones, Like Mythril and Cobalt will be more powerful than silver.

Well, rank 51-60 synths. After all, most crafters grind on synths that are +8~+10, not on even level or below.

That said, there's 2 new tiers of shirts -- linen and felt. I wonder if that means rank 48 and 50, or 48 and 58...?

Guess this is one way to clean up my inventory. With all the items that won't be used in recipes anymore, I can just sell them to the vendor. Don't see much use in keeping them if they don't make something still usable. Tho I geuss I could try using them up in the old recipes still (if they are still in game) to get xp for that profession. Kinda sucks tho after finally getting a computer that runs the game only a couple months ago. But I geuss it's for the better lol.

Took me a while to think this, but the one good thing about the new recipes.... I'm due to upgrade some crafting tools soon so it won't take as much to do that. But then, it's gonna take a bit to figure out the levels of the new recipes unless they kept them the same. I did always hate how one component for just about everything was so far out of reach craft level wise to make. Maybe it'll be a little better now.

question is tho... are the old recipes gonna need all "dated" mats are will they accept new ones in their place for the more common mats that got new recipes? or vice versa... you got "dated" bronze ingots, will they work in the new recipe for the time being?

Unless the list on Lodestone is not complete, nobody.

"Dated" rings and earrings used nuggets, which will (or have?) become impossible to craft, which means even those will not be craftable after the stocks run out.

I can't wait to find out if they are still in the game, just not listed on Lodestone.

4 Electrum ore = 12 Electrum Nugget
1 Raw Amethyst = 1 Amethyst (either can be bought from and NPC and raw can still be gathered)
1 Amethyst + 2 Electrum Nugget = 1 Amethyst Ring

Found through a combination of recipe searching on ZAM and ctrl + f on the page of recipe changes on the lodestone forums

you can still make black pearl rings, aquamarine rings, bone rings, brass rings {jewelry} (gotta make your own nuggets now), copper rings {jewelry} (same thing), obviously electrum rings and A-E is all I cared about doing for this post

They made a nice table to quickly browse and see which items are going away for good, which are going away but will come back and which are having their methods of obtaining changed
It's at the bottom of the page

Pretty sure the database at this link

http://lodestone.finalfantasyxiv.com/pl/recipe

is very incomplete at the moment, probably because of the recipe overhaul. Just typing in something common like "sword" for example only shows 3 items, and that can't be right. Currently this database might only be showing items that are new or have had a change in recipe. I believe a lot of recipes are not changing at all, so perhaps some of these aren't showing up in the database yet.

I sure hope so... cause there seems to be VERY few recipes at the lower levels. Seems real boring to me.

There was some confusion on this after it was posted, but an item being in the "not used in new recipes" list doesn't imply it is being removed from the game, in fact that is why they posted the table at the bottom of that page so it would be clear to people what items are being removed or changed. Not being used in new recipes is simply that, they won't be used in the new recipes. There is an extensive list of stuff that is being flat out removed or removed until a later date, but nuggets aren't among said stuff, and the jewelry recipes not mentioned in the "updated" or "new" recipe lists will remain the same for the foreseeable future, and given how simple the ring and earring recipes are I'm not surprised they didn't add "new" ways to craft them as the primary purpose of those recipes was simplification of the process. Nuggets aren't being used as much anymore in an effort to cut out the middleman, but they are still used in some of the updated recipes for things like throwing daggers and will continue to be used in jewelry recipes.

That the ring and earring recipes aren't mentioned on that page means they aren't changing and they aren't going away, they told us the two recipes that are being abolished, and the only recipes that are being modified now or in the future are featured on that page.

I understand your logic, and it's probably true. I just find it weird that the recipe isn't listed, as the website has no reason to only list "new" recipe, since it's supposed to be a resource for new players as well as current ones.

In any case, I'm about 30 minutes away from finding out firsthand.

just did the new latex into rubber. i'm alch11 and did it with ease using brass alembic and no facility. so I'm sure the recipe levels haven't change much if any. since I got 308xp, 305xp and 307xp for first 3 synths.

at alch12, rubber dropped to 260-265xp range for success synth.

I saw someone make Cobalt Armor already... no idea where Cobalt is even mined yet ><.

Also, we were deceived! New crafting gear has "Requires" on it, despite the fact that it was expressly stated that would be reserved for NM gear... sigh.. oh well.

I don't know if anyone else noticed, but some of the items have had their "Requires: " altered. One example of this is Kecks, which used to be wearable by all classes. Now it is missing several crafting classes.

Also, Material creation recipes are only the new versions. You can not put 2 moko grass in window and get the older version option anymore. Same applies to if you had it in your recent recipe list, from before patch, and go to make it again, it only gives you the new version.

With the inability to see who can wear the new gear in Lodestone's database and ZAM's not fully updated, it almost makes it so you have to take a step back in gear level to find something that's wearable once you spiritbond fully with a dated piece of gear and want to replace it before you waste xp toward spiritbonding with another piece.
