Best server for an English speaking noob?Follow

I've heard Besaid, Lindblum, and Rabanastre have the largest English speaking population.

However, I understand that most of the "established" populations in MMO's consist of cap leveled endgamers.

Which server is the most receptive to new players?

Since you can level any or all jobs to cap there are always people in your level range, people haveing one or more class at rank 50 does not mean that all they do is endgame stuff.

I personaly play on Besaid, if you don't mind RPers I would recomend it.

Isn't "English speaking noob" redundant? We don't have the JP button. :/

Also, I would imagine that populations will be growing again soon. The game really is coming along. It might not be too hard to find other people in your same boat in a week or two.

SigV, if you find yourself on Rabanstre, feel free to look me up. I'll toss you some gil and answer any questions you may have.

Heh, "noob" doesn't always have a negative connotation. The horde of 12 year olds from this generation have distorted the meaning of the word.

I played FFXI from NA launch, so I know how completely and utterly lost you can get in an mmo. I played this game's beta, and while I know it has changed a lot, I don't think they've added any shiny green arrows telling you where to go until you're max level.

Supposedly there's a "newbie" vs. "n00b" distinction, the latter implying the player thinks he or she knows more than he or she actually does, and plays like it, but in the wild I haven't seen people use "newbie" in a long time. I find "n00b" to be effective self-degradation to preempt particularly harsh criticisms of my playing.

"Noob" is generally derogatory, "newb" isn't. That said, I was pretty plainly being hyperbolic when I posted my prior thoughts. ;)

I was wondering the same thing as the op earlier, ended up picking one at random for my test guy. O_< is there a way to switch servers presently?
