Now (speaking of my self only) only thing to do is wait till work is done, update, and see if 50% of my hopes and dreams for XIV return. in the mean time here's some kitten pictures i found.

Kitten 1
Kitten 2
Kitten 3
Kitten 4

Only items made after the update can have materia equipped on it, meaning ALL armor at the moment needs to be melted down. Including FNM armor, NM drop, made from NM drop mats, quest obtained, normal crafted.......... time to re gear my all of my job's..................

That is one smooth move.

Was it mentioned somewhere in patch notes if current pre-patch gear will be able to accumulate spirit-bond and thus eventually be converted into materia ? I'm also assuming that gear you currently have, assuming it can be converted, will start at a spirit-bond value of zero ?

Theoretically speaking where might an unnamed individual find a place to acquire said patch in some form via directly? All speculatory of course.... should such a place exist. Not that any person or persons would use such a method since the game provides a means to acquire the patch that is exceptional and bar none to any other possible method.

From the FFXIV official Twitter feed:

Quote:
#XIVLive Q: Will you be able to convert equipment crafted with old recipes into materia?

A: Yes. The old recipes will disappear from the game, so convert all your beloved gear into materia and add it to the new equipment.

Current equipped gear will likely start at zero spirit-bond value probably.

46.5% using utorrent.... its gonna be close to finish in an hour. I'm not getting nearly as good speed as normal. Just 100-150k -- usually I hit 300 pretty easily.

I am saturating my upstream for everyone however and will let it seed for awhile after its finished :D

Someone posted a link to an alternate place to obtain the patch on the forums (it's posted in the #40 post in that thread, the #49 post tell you where to place the patch), it might get deleted soon so try to hurry ;). Hope this helps.

(EDIT: found another link here that list everything together in one post)

(EDIT 2: first link is gone but the second still works)

Hey this is a little off topic but does anyone use this website?

http://www.megaupload.com/

?d=IN7FU66W Whoops my hand slipped on the keyboard there for a sec. Oh well. It should be fine as long as you don't do something crazy like put it at the end of that link I posted. Why would a person do something silly like that anyway? I certainly wouldn't.

I've had the path finished for like an hour on both comps, just from the built in patching client.

Now for it to come up to see if what the new GC quests are and if I can make my plans work or not.

Seems like the penalties for being below the optimal level for a piece of gear were changed. ie, the bonus stats at the bottom, you get none of them if you're below optimal level, at least so far.

Just torrent it? The patch conveniently creates a torrent file where it download the patch, except they don't tell you that directly.

Also seems the same happens if the item doesn't favor your class. No bonus stats, only the base defense or whatnot.

Torrents do not work for me, unfortunately. If they did then I would probably have no issue with the official patch software. I needed a direct download link. Which I found.

Did you put the downloaded file there? If you tried the patcher before you dl it from Megaupload, it will create an incomplete file there. You need to overwrite it with the one you dl from MU.

Oh god this is a bad sign, I just made a Heisenberg joke about the downloading speed of the client. It suddenly started speeding up, so I stopped doing anything and just stared at it, jokingly saying to myself that if I don't do anything, it might stay that way. A moment later, I come to a realization, "Oh no, by observing it, I've already ruined the equilibrium." It promptly dropped to 0.0B/s.
