Crafting Question - Coloring an HQ itemFollow

If you attempt to apply a dye to an uncolored +3 piece of gear for example, do you lose the +3 unless you get lucky and HQ again? I'm guessing the answer is yes so in that case, considering the odds of getting an HQ in general, better to not attempt to color an item that is already HQ and instead just use an NQ item for the dye-ing synth?

I hope not. If that turns out to be true it isn't a very good mechanic if all you're trying to do is dye something.

So apparently you do lose the HQ but the colored items have different stats. If that's good or bad remains to be seen.

The additional stat is measly at best, but on the other hand HQ is also pretty weak compared to previously. If +3 before was 15%, +3 is now more like 9%.

When the HQ system is revised HQ mats will always = HQ finished product, in the meantime dying a HQ gear seems like a very stupid idea.
