Any detail of the Stat equations/caps post update?Follow

I'm sure the answer will be no (followed by flaming) as the patch hasn't been implemented long enough for rigorous testing (not had enough playtime myself yet) but I'm currently trying to work out what Materia to work towards on new gear. Does 2 STR = 1 attack? Does HP+ work out better than VIT+ and slightly higher Def? Are they're still caps per lvl (inc 50) with equip on top of the boosted stats per class?

Well VIT on gear never gave HP, for one thing. But I haven't seen any definitive testing, anywhere yet, sorry.

I know it doesn't give HP, it's more the fact that is, for example, 5 defence and +2 VIT better than 20HP

That really depends on the situation, even without knowing the exact effect of some stats. Currently there's no well accepted "in a perfect world x is better" that I'm aware of. If you were fighting something where the enemy focuses on magic, or an ability that could one shot you without sufficient HP for instance, HP would always win over VIT and defense.

It'll take a lot of testing to determine the exact relationship between VIT and defense, it's likely one isn't necessarily better than the other, but that they are related in a way that depending on how much of each you have, one or the other is better.

I guess then, for a GLA at least, it's the return to Magic Def & HP/Def builds and to throw caution to wind until more thorough testing has been made.

They does, I just put on +7 Vit ring and get 7 Hp.

2 int gives I believe 1 magic potency, maybe 3?

seems kind of weak.

At most you'll get maybe 10 from gear, 10 from traits 60 from materia and 21 from accessories. Not much in terms of stacking (yes I realize that's 50% more than your base int at 50).


Though +40 magic crit potency seems nice cause banish/scourge crits a decent amount, so stack that instead of int maybe.
