Starting back up since last December! Ha ha, so how much has the game changed since then? Just wanted some input as I wait for it to install!

Yup many things have changed and if you haven't played in so long be ready to be shocked. On the amazing plus side: there is so much to do now you might not know where to start.

There isn't "so much to do now" - There's more to do. There's a difference.

I've been reading around on the forums and people are saying they made leveling harder due to the recent patch. Some say they quadrupled the the time it takes to level @ low levels?!?! What's all this non-sense?! lol I just hope I can get back into it. Hopefully they didn't make the combat system too bad.

I recently came back to the game as well and currently am fairly satisfied with the changes that have taken place since my departure. My only complaint is that I have been gone so long that I am completely lost again. Where is everyone? Yes we all know about shrinking populations and etc but I'm referring to the people who are still playing, where is everyone hanging out? What is the general homepoint for everyone? LL seems completely barren, that used to be the place to be, at least on my server.

Also there's a level 25 dungeon I hear? What are the pre-requisites to enter and suggested party size/comp? From what I'v read this instance is a nice place to level at 25+ and well... my lnc is 25 so yea. Anyone wana take a few mins to re-inform a born-again noob? Thx in advance.

This one time at FFXIV camp I tried to get a 3 person party going, but just ended up as a Disciple of the Hand.

For the most part, everyone is in Ul'dah. This is where you are most likely to see party shouts and where a bulk of the items and equip are being sold.

To get started all the new quests you are hearing about, first head to the Grand Companies.

The Grand Companies can be found in the same place as the Market Wards - they are just another destination option. The Hall of Flames (Ul'dah), The Twin Adders (Gridania), and The Maelstrom (Limsa Lominsa).

This is where you need to go to:

1.) Get the 25+ Dungeon quest
2.) Get the 45+ Dungeon quest
3.) Get a Chocobo (have to do first 3 Grand Company quests in each nation - includes listening to the recruitement speech)
4.) Get the Ifrit quests

This will get you headed down the right path.

I am considering come back to give the changes a spin. I think my highest level job is 23 conj. Where/how should I go about leveling these days at 23?
