Let me get this straight you want to know how to make your controller turbo capable, for purposes regarding what? You DO understand you're asking "how do i make my controller more cheater friendly"? As there is only ONE use for what you are intending on dung and that's auto craft. I would strongly urge you not to ask "how do i make this game easy" questions, on here or any were for that matter.

please lock this thread.

Maybe you can get FFXIV to work with an NES Advantage?

That was the only controller I've owned with turbo buttons. Made Track and Field 2 a breeze.

If crafting was a task that didn't require you to spam a button repeatedly, you might have a point. I'm not sure it could be called cheating. All you're doing is making the process less annoying. You still have to farm materials. You still have to place items into the crafting interface. It's not like a script that you set and walk away from that insta-caps all your crafting skills for you.

unless you the person is clicking the ENTER key it is cheating. End of story.

Don't matter if it's annoying, repetitive, dull, time consume, or one click friendly. Still cheating.

Using a turbo function on a controller is considered botting.

We'll have to agree to disagree then. I personally don't see it as cheating unless it gives one player a distinct advantage over others or breaks the ToS. This method does not violate either of those.

Using third party programs or tools in FINAL FANTASY XIV is strictly prohibited since they allow users to gain an unfair advantage over other players. The use of programs or tools within FINAL FANTASY XIV that allow certain continuous actions to be performed automatically are often referred to as absentee play, which is also prohibited in FINAL FANTASY XIV. Additionally, during the course of an absentee play investigation, players may be requested to respond to or comply with a GMs instruction. Failure to do so is consider a violation and may result in disciplinary action being taken against the account.

What if it's a mechanical device that presses the button for you? Or a living organism like a trained animal? What if I'm not looking at the screen and only hitting the button from across the room while watching a movie or reading a book? I'm trying to find a way to get around the annoying crafting system here, but I need to make sure it's allowed.

It isn't absentee play if you're not absent. If a GM sends you a tell and you're crafting but you don't respond because you are not actually at the keyboard, you are in violation. The only thing that can select mats, put them into the crafting UI and synth them is a script. A controller with the option to repeatedly perform an action does not allow you to achieve this.

Regardless, the ToS police went out with alpha testing. Because of SE's wack downloader people had to resort to torrenting the client in order to save themselves from a 12+ hour download. That happens to be against the ToS but in no way affects other players or gives you an unfair advantage. Would you also consider this 'cheating'? People are way too sensitive about this ****.

You don't have to press any other buttons or the directional pad to select mats? I can't be bothered to reinstall just to check, but I could've sworn it took more than spamming one button repeatedly to craft. Even if that is all it takes, it doesn't have any adverse affect on other players which was the point of my post. Also, by their definition, you could run a script to do it for you even if it did take other actions to complete a synth and they wouldn't take disciplinary action unless you were not at the keys to respond to a tell from GM.

They added a list of previously crafted recipes to the game, and if you keep hitting enter after you complete a synth, the game automatically takes you through all the menus you need to create the same item you just made. So all you need to do is select the materials for the item you want to make a single time, and hit enter continuously until you want to stop making that item.
