Do you think it's worth starting a craft before 2.0?Follow

I was thinking about leveling a craft or two during the wait for 2.0. I figured I could use a laptop, sit on my couch, watch TV, and kind of craft-grind. However, with all of the big changes planned for 2.0, I'm not sure if it's worth putting the time into. I was considering Cullinary and Fishing...or anything that will make a lot of gil. What do you guys think?

Given the changes likely to incur between now and 2.0, it is highly unlikely anyone knows what crafts will "make a lot of gil" and are worth investing the time into. What is profitable now may very well be a flooded market in 2.0

Characters will be transferred to 2.0 though so there is no risk of loss in taking on crafting skills at the moment. Spend time leveling whatever craft you enjoy.

Go for it, 2.0 is so far enough in the future that i would not let it affect any decisions made today. My plan is CNJ/PUG/MRD 50, followed by mining and botany 50, and finishing with BSM,GSM,ARM 50. It is quite possible to have all classes 50 in the 1year before 2.0.

If food gives you a big boost in stats like it did in XI, I'm willing to bet it would probably be the most reliable. Weapons and gear will be out dated due to level cap and other endgame gear. Although I did remember Yoshida mentioning that he does not want players to be spamming food for buffs too often...
