hi everyone just some quick noob questions, i started playin the game a few days back and im finding it very annoying not bein able to level very well, quests seem few and far betweena nd only way i see is that you have to grind to level up (unless you just level your crafting which seems easy enough), but other than that i find there there are no quests to level u up like other MMO's and can only do 4 leves quests every 8 in game hours, would be greatful if someone could let me know how i can level any other way otehr than grinding out monsters, or crafting. Or just some answers on how to get quests in the game, cause i really like the game and dont want to just abandon the game thanx.

You will get some xp from leve's and quest but the bulk of your xp will coming from grinding xp either solo or in a group.

what quests tho cause i cant seem to find them, unless i grind for hours level up and do the main quest, other than that i see no possible reason for this game. not much of a storyline, and inbetween the main story all you do is grind, where as in other MMO's you get quest after quest not grind for 3 hrs and then get other quest, i just dont get it

The game has been going through a lot of issues since its release last year. All though i haven't been playing it lately. There still is a lot of work to be done with it. It going to P2P here very soon. Best suggestion if you don't find the game to your liking, perhaps wait until v2 comes out next year with a whole new fresh look.

Best to do storyline quest you'll know what level mobs are in the area.Getting one shotted death is what happens if you wander to far off the main road in this game (even a level 50). Question marks on the map was add to show you if a quest is open.

There is also behest at the aetherite camps. A battlewarden will appear every half hour I think it is now and give you a leve-type mission to kill monsters.

From around level 20+ you should be able to get into grind parties which are a much much faster way to level. Head to uldah which is the main activity hub, there should be shouts for parties there.

If someone is willing to power level you that is fast too but a good party can be just as fast in some cases and more fun ^^

The game is not like WoW and its clones where you can get npc quests to make your way to max level. There will be grinding of some description.

Good Luck

When first starting the leve limits are frustrating, because you don't have a full stack of Level Allowances. Fortunately a couple days break will stack up a nice pile of allowances. While you're still limited to holding 8 leves at a time, you can grab more leves until you run out of allowances. As for the lack of quests... it's a FF thing, and while yes it is annoying, it is also changing, more quests on the way.

I say this while not wishing to stir up the argument that inevitably follows, but the Final Fantasy MMOs do not follow your typical modern MMO format in that you level primarily via questing. While we're still early in a redesign of this game, Final Fantasy's online are typically grinders in that you'll spend the majority of your time progressing your character's development either in groups or solo grinding mobs with the emphasis being placed on group-based grinding for maximum EXP/hour potential.

Pro or con, like it or dislike it, that appears to be the direction we have here. If that type of MMO is not something you particularly find enjoyable this may not be the game for you.

Now as was stated before, your available leves (quests) will accumulate (up to 99) so the potential is there to spend a lot of your time just doing leves, but these are not quests you progress in a sort of linear storyline - you'll repeat a lot of the same leves if those become your primary activity.

That being said Final Fantasy XIV is getting a major overhaul next year so we're not exactly sure what type of game it will ultimately end up being.

I loved ffxi because you needed to have those other 5 guys if u wanted to go exp.. Ofc it was frustrating sometimes when u had to wait 2hrs for pt... but meanwhile u did something else like crafting, exploring etc.. And if u have friends playing with you it was even better. Ive tried few of them WoW clones and didnt like it. Well i dont like pvp so and those games doesn't support going only pve atleast you miss atleast half of the game.

All quests have level restrictions and will not show up until you meet the level requirement. Which is why you probably can't find a lot if you're just starting.

So, level up a bit first and you'll start seeing the ! pop up around the towns for the different quests.
