When FFXIV first came out over 12 months ago, little do I remember creating a clickandbuy account (but i did) and the credit card I had attached to the account had to be deactivated because of scaming issues ETC ETC ....

so NOW when the billing period starts ... they blocked my account, you try and go to the website to add a new credit card ... dosnt happen. I call them and tell them the problem (mobile phone from australia to england not so cheap - thanks optus.) they send me some rubbish email to follow instructions which leads me around in circles and still gets me nowhere, would not even allow me to add a new credit card (even though it gives you the option) because the FIRST one had been suspended.

THEN I phone again, ask them to close the account so I can make a NEW account and they "cant do that over the phone". They advise me to just "simply" go into my click and cry *cough* buy account and just "simply" close the account from my options menu...you guessed it folks...YOU CANT CLOSE IT...YOU NEED TO CONTACT VIA PHONE TO CLOSE THE ACCOUNT !

IVE HAD IT!

(I apologise for the format in which this is written and the random use of capital letters and dots ... but Ive had it with these people and I havnt even started to use the service yet!)

Anyone else having clickandcry problems?

"ClickandCRY" isn't accepting my date of birth. >< Why couldn't we get an easier method of payment.

I feel your pain, I just spent 20 minutes reactivating an account I thought I already agreed to reactivate. I guess SE didn't learn anything with their overconvoluted Playonline system, they decided to go ahead and make something even more complicated. Anyway, just make a new ClickAndBuy account, create a yahoo email or something if you need to. I had to make a new account, went pretty smooth after that. Just abandon your old account, not much to worry about if all the info on it is a canceled CC anyway.

Would this alleviate my problem as well do you think? My ClickandBuy account wasn't accepting my date of birth (I checked, rechecked, and checked again to make sure I typed it correctly). Also, do you know if you can delete the old ClickandBuy account because I've heard and noticed you can't use the same credit card for two different FFXIV accounts, so would like to avoid the, "This card has already been activated for another account." message.

I don't know whats going on there... Try lying about your age. Try reloading the page.

If it's only allowing one CC in all of FFXIV, it doesn't matter if you have a different email, it's still going to check to see if that CC is in use or not. I can't see this happening at all, though; there should be a way to add another FFXIV account to the same CC, possibly using the same ClickAndBuy account. Make sure it's not as simple as just adding another account in the FFXIV Account interface.

My age shouldn't be a problem I am 19. If I was 12 I could see lying about my age.

Thanks Urste for the suggestions and prompt response. My ClickandBuy account was blocked due to typing in my birth date too many wrong times (so they say! I know when I was born gosh darn it!). I will try your suggestion tomorrow because I thought this morning I could fix it when I noticed what I setup a few days ago was not saved payment method-wise. Hopefully this can be resolved soon.

When my wife and I bought the game, we almost gave up because of SE's idiotic payment methods. Not that it was worth the effort, but we eventually prevailed... so keep at it, I guess! /cheer

As someone pointed out in another thread, though, SE's never going to attract new players as long as they manage to drive away people who are essentially saying, "Take my money!" Has the company never seen the way any other payment systems work on the internet? o_O

I made my CnB account like 5 months ago, it asked me to update for the coming billing, did that. NP here at all, went smooth. There are a few other easy ways to just put ur CC info in to get crysta. Would b nice to have a system like FF11 had but we have what we have and it was easy setup here. Sry everyone is having so much trouble with the options given.

The Click and Buy was pretty simple to set up both my account and my wifes. Today I checked my online statment to see it charge through, and find that its charged a Click and Buy from London, along with an extra currency charge since we live in the US. NOT HAPPY AT ALL. Thanks SE for allowing BoA the chance to make a profit for charging overseas.

If it is not complicate, SE won't use it. Simple as that :P

Well its a good thing that as well as learning from all their mistakes with FFXI, that SE also seemed to learn from their Playonline billing mistakes too!!

GJ! They clearly have not come out with only a true successor to FFXI by making a quality content-rich mmorpg but they have also concocted the cleanest payment system ever made by completely correcting all the idiosyncrasies of the complicated Playonline billing game.

Also, it seems they have made it easier for you to detect issues with your payment with easy to decipher error codes and support that guides you through this smooth payment system.

Well done!

I went through the thoroughly tedious process of getting a prepaid debit card set up with ClickandBuy. Was required to call them, wait a day as they charged two separate amounts, all that. When it came time to finally use this as an option, it wasn't an option. Just a red X to the left of my now set-up ClickandBuy card, and underneath, the option to use a "different" credit/debit card with them. Which didn't work even when I gave that a try.

Okay, bad experiance, waste of time, but you can get around ClickandBuy with UltimatePay & Paypal, right? As Lee Corso would say, "Not so fast, my friend."

After my card wouldn't work, my friend gave his a try. He had just payed for half a year of XIV + his mule this way, yet it wouldn't work for my account. Declined. Errors. Just like mine. From what I understand, paying for multiple accounts with one card might be a problem with ClickandBuy, but it shouldn't be if using UltimatePay to buy Crysta.

So now what? I was about to email SE support when I noticed they had specifically mentioned "Ultimate Game Cards." I was in too deep now to not exhaust every possible fix, so 11 USD later I had 1,100 Crysta.

I'm not even going to attatch an opinon here regarding this; I'll let the above speak for itself. However, after going through this experiance, I'm now a firm believer in the upcoming 2012 apocalypse.
