Heya,

Played open-beta and release, left, and now trying it again. Game definitely improved a lot, still not perfect but perfectly fine for me heh. While playing this week-end, some questions couldn't be answered by the various wikis etc. available, so i'm posting here ;)

- I have 2 class level 11. Before leveling i was wondering if there are some quests i should seek in "preparation" for the higher levels. I see Grand Company stuff being available at 22, but before that, is there something meaningful i should try to complete before reaching the 20s ?

- Is there any guide or ressource somewhere explaining all the stats and how they behave ? I'm talking about the major stats such as mind, piety etc. and also item stats such as perception, magic craftmanship, magic accuracy, etc. ?

- Regarding the "optimal level" what should be considered to high/low to put on ? I just noticed that i have optimal level 19 cesti on my lv11 pugilist and i think this is causing me some problems hehe. Should i always seek items with no more than 4-5 level difference ?

Last thing, i'm on Selbina, if some people just came back and are willing to party, PM me ! I'm already playing with a friend, maybe we could get our stuff together !

Best regards,

tr3p

Regarding the quests/stories. I'd say do as many quests as you can :) It's got a lot of lore around it. I just had a friend from xi join karnak. You might not find alot of parties to be honest :( It's very sad especially at low levels. I had to PL him to 30 just so he's in range of everyone else.

If your below optimal level on gear than all bonus stats are gone, and you get reduced stats on the rest.

Like Final Fantasy XI, the game specs will be extremely high for the time, but in about 5 years, an average machine can run it on max settings with little to no issues. Tanaka also expressed interest in making a benchmark program available.

Yes, this is one of the biggest negatives right now in regards to new player adoption. The game is tremendously solo-based from 1-30 and while 1-20 can be achieved extremely quickly, after 20 the exp rate drops a bit and new players may find themselves too frustrated with the climb from 20 to 30 to stick around.

Two fold problem: 1-30 is such a fast pace it's difficult to justify developer time to improvements, on the other hand the game benefits tremendously by having more high level players, and ostracizing them prior to the start of group-based play isn't a good thing.

Not to hijack, but great compilation of stats Elionara - to further the discussion do we have any idea on how the new jobs in 1.21 will benefit from stats? I'm curious how a transition such as Archer to Bard is suppose to allocate points if the stats are different for benefiting their primary purpose. I can see Piety being a primary state, what with Enfeebling Magic Potency and Archer's Arm, but traditionally bards have also had Enhancement type effects. Allocation points to Vitality doesn't make sense from an Archer role.

That being said, there's nothing from stopping them from adding a new, Bard-only classification for point enhancements.

To the OP, I'm Dodi Dirac on Selbina. I'm only a month into the game myself. A few friends and I have all just started playing or are returning. We get together every Sunday afternoon (EST) to xp static and I am on most week nights somewhere between 9 and 11PM. Look me up. If nothing else, I can introduce you to the peeps I know.

To Elionara- thanks for posting that mods list. 1000 x thank you! :)

Thanks for the replies and the stats description, very useful !

One thing regarding optimal level. Since wearing them before the optimal level is useless, why isn't there only "required level". Optimal level seems a bit useless to me ?

Most of the time if your within 5 levels of it it's not that great a reduction. Besides, would you want to run back to town or waste anima every 30minutes to an hour just to get new gear? :)

If you party up with 4+ people and just murders stuff non stop you will level, very fast. To the point you will out grow the gear :(

Required level is on most of the r/e gear and endgame items so they aren't used by lowbies :)

Again, thanks, optimal level really made my Pugilist hit like wimp. Now i have correct Knuckles and it's pretty awesome hehe

Yesterday i was wondering what happened to the pugilist guild, couldn't do anything to get mark for them ? Are they ditching it in the upcoming patches ?

Marks have been done away with, if you earned them before you have them still and can get a reward later when they decide what it will be; but if not there's no reward now.

You can try Sposhae in La Noscea (LL), there's a quest that lead you to the entrance there at lvl 15, but to solo you probably need to be lvl 20+ It has some unique equipments (tradeable) and some achievement (both lodestone and in-game).

Nice thanks. I think the best way to get some gears at the beginning is to do some questings ? I can't really find interesting gears for lv10-20 for either, conjurer, miner or pugilist. Main Hand and Off Hand looks fine at the retainer though.

On a side note, what is the "spirit bound" thing. Like, the item will be bound to you after a specific amount of time or utilization ? Before that, you can still sell it ?
