I have no issues with JP population. I just think its impractical to try to actually communicate with auto-translate.
Which means I'd really appreciate a community that is on and active that I can understand with appropriate time management. PST vs CST is terrible, and almost all the linkshells (minus one that I can think of) on Figaro were based on PST because of the whole "IM COMPLETELY ENTHRALLED WITH JP CULTURE" which.. is something I totally don't understand.
Anyway, I'd just like a primarily an english server to not have to whisper someone and get "I don't speak english" back. This isn't a "tolerance" issue, as much as you'd like to make it one, its not.
Furthermore, if you'd like to make this a "tolerance" issue, you might as well start whining at the EU German/French players for getting their own designated 'recommended' server. If you say its not, then my "want for a primary english" server is completely valid.
24/7 "economy" is also a far stretch.

I don't think you understand the scope of your request.
You seem to want a server of people who think and feel the way you do, and will play when you play. While that may be possible for you, it is not possible on a global scale.
As for people that are "enthralled" with JP culture, I personally would be one of the people you are refering to. I found their culture and art fascinating before I found out that I am 1/4 Chinese. As a Westerner, most of the culture and information we learn in school is Westerner/European culture. To learn and understand another culture I did not get exposure to when I was growing up is a big deal for me. I want to have a better understanding of the world (and more so now of eastern culture as it does pertain to my heritage).
As for the Eu German/French players, I think you missed the point of that. The suggestion is related to people who speak little or no English/Japanese, who have problems finding people who speak their language and can communicate to. Since I can not read/write Japanese, and my understanding of French is worse than pathetic, and I refuse to learn german, I can understand that. If I couldn't find a linkshell of people I can talk to, I wouldn't want to play the game. It's not about finding parties, because that has little/nothing to do with the language barrier (and that is where the auto-translate feature comes it). I have yet to run into a situation where I have been in a party with mostly Japanese, or mostly English speakers, where the party did not run smoothly. In those situations, the party because controlled by the majority language, and auto-translate, or a person who speaks both translates between, and the party works.
However, I have never, and will most likely never be in a Japanese linkshell. There is no reason to, and I will gain nothing from it, as they will gain nothing from me being there.
So, now to address your issue of a predominately English Server.
You first need to realize that there are nearly as many Japanese speakers as English Speakers. There are effectively 9 servers. Japan has 1 time zone, however, there are 3 austrailian, 1 English, and 6 American Time Zones.
With that being said, how would someone specify an English Server. You have people in every time zone who can speak varying languages (mind you with the current population they are definitely a minority), and you have large groups of people of the two predominate languages. If SE had recommended a server (or even 2) for one language or another, and assuming people wouldn't start screaming "Separatists" (and believe me, they would), you would still end up overloading those two areas, and create the most inefficient, and disgruntled environment. You would have servers that would be inactive for 4-6 hours a day. Could you imagine, you decide that you want to play late one week-night because you have the day off, and you can barely find 100 people online. Or you are home sick, and there is no one on. Basically the net result would be lower populations during the off-times than there are on now during the peak times. This would be significantly worse for the Japanese servers as they would represent a single timezone.
Even with the fact that different people work and play at different times, there is a significant majority (the reason it's called JP PrimeTime, or EU PrimeTime, or US PrimeTime) who play in a specific window. it's the reason gas stations and stores close at night.
I am sorry that this inconveniences you, but considering the over-all population that each server will have, I think you can safely avoid anyone who is not Japanese. And, you can always move around, there will be a server or two that will have more people of one nationality than another.
