Hello question. I just started playing FFXIV and I like the game itself. I like playing it and the feel. But I can not log into the FFXIV forums.

I did contact customer sopport and got this reply.

I did not know Buying the game was a free trial nor did I find anywhere that stated I can not find anywhere stated that a player has to wait 30 days before able to use there forums.

So my question is is this a new policie or that been that way for a while. If so it kinds of put a damper on a new person joining the game to get involved in the community.

It's been a while, at least from January.

When did you start playing? Typically it takes a day or so for their systems to recognize you I believe. Then I think you have to set up your character and all that jazz on their forums and pick out a handle and such, been a while since I did that, but I think that's how it goes.

During my free trial in Jan 2012, I was able to set up my character but not able to log into official forum; when my free trial ended in Feb, loadestone asked me to set up my forum account.
