Cancelled SE account , wanting to come backFollow

So I cancelled my SE Account for FFXI / FFXIV like 2 months ago, I got that itch again and decided to give FFXIV another go after spending the opening few weeks playing then quitting I thought it deserved another chance....

Since my old SE account is cancelled I set about making a new one, I install ffxiv again, update overnight, log in this morning only to find I need to add my serial key, seems this key is already linked to my previous SE account! so do I need to call SE and get them to unlink my old serial keys with my old account? or will they open my old account again? I guess the latter would be easier, is this is possible, can it only be done through contacting them via phone / chat? or is this something that can be done on my own through their website? (I can't see these options anywhere)I can't log in to my old account and Un-link btw

thanks,
Spooki

Open your old account, you should always terminate your services not your accounts with SE. Goodluck with the potential nightmare you're about to face.

Getting in touch with customer support and restoring your old account might be the only option you have, as for how easy that is I don't know.
I'd preapare for a few annoying hours talking to SE if I where you, make sure you got as much info at hand about your old account as you can.

Best of luck!

I thought I was going to be on the phone for hours, I was on hold for about 10 seconds and the call didn't take longer than 10 minutes, they re-activated my old SE account, 20 minutes after the telephone lines opened up; I'm playing ffxiv again! thumbs up guys!!

Why make a new account just reactivate your account and make new toons. seems be lot easier to do then to call SE and try to unlock you account to make a new one.

And I believe the only way you going to get a new account is to buy the game again.

You're late to the party, surprisingly the OP got it sorted via SE without any hassle. I'm honestly quite impressed.

The reason I made a new SE account was because I read you can re-link your characters / games to a new SE account,so rather than wasting my (and SE's) time with a phone call to sort my old account out, I planned to just do it all via the internet and spend as little £ as possible, little did I know that before you can link an account you first must un-link these from your old SE account, since my old account had been deleted/deactivated I couldn't log in to do this and the only way to reactivate was to call them. I did this and just carried on with my old account, happy days.
