That's a road not often taken. How was the experience? Would you recommend it?

Playing entirely solo in an MMORPG? An MMORPG with next to no content? And doing it without even using many of the game's abilities?

Why would anyone recommend that? XD

response tongue in cheek i know (hope) but...

yeah i mostly solo everything i can. My playtime consists of 15-30 minute intervals throughout the afternoon and evening, inbetween which I'm refereeing my 4 kids and doing who knows what else which can include work or playing my 3DS. Its not that I have a limited attention span, its just that I can count on whatever I'm doing to be interrupted at any point so I've adapted to doing things that account for that.

My first 50 classes were GLD/MIN and then i finally soloed PGL and LNC with the help of some afk PL during 20-40. Soloing 40-50 takes about 7 days of sporadic leveling. With aspected GC leves giving near 15k each (that's like 50-60k hour), soloing is ridiculously easy. I split it between leves, farming, and then just hitting odd mobs along the way. You don't ever solo alone in an MMORPG which is what makes it fun. Your LS is always there cheering you on or available to meld some odd weapon you need or make some item or even duo for a few minutes here and there.

Yep, I don't do Ifrit often (have like 2 totems) but I got plenty of time to work on multi-melded weapons/armor which are pretty much better anyway. The only thing I really need some help with is the GC missions that require 2+ ppl. Of course this is likely to all change once the job/AF quests come out. That's gonna suck >.>;

Grats clarissa on solo GLA 50!

Wow refeering kids and playing...God I'm no where near that talented...if I try and even play Skyrim my two year old is like "Roar Mommy! I want Roar!" *referring to me fighting the dragons* then she wants to sit in my lap...play with my hair...crawl all over me...yeah so for me gaming and reffing kids is a no go. And to think you were able to get a few classes to 50 doing that. Hats off to ya. Seriously.

I solo'd THM and CON to 50 (most of the way though I grouped CON for about 6 levels).

I am now soloing PUG to 50 and hoping to get there by the end of March.

It is just so **** hard to find a group. I have been in 2 LS's since launch and neither one has any members left (maybe I smell). As for ever finding a group that will take an ungeared THM or CON to battle Ifrit, just no chance (I am in gear for the late 40's or 50 but not full set Ifrit/instance/Moogle gear).

Unless you have all jobs at 50 in this game and full epic armour there really is absolutely nothing to do except solo. Here's hoping the community improves with 2.0! Until then I will likely be soloing all DoW to 50.

I have an 8 month old and between my child and my wife finding a couple hours of playtime is impossible. If I do find time, it is in the early morning hours before they wake up or late at night long after they have gone to bed. Sometimes naps work for leveling crafting. I can't even a imagine 4 kids or even a 2 year old running around.

My congrats to you! I've been on the cusp forever. When they removed 'Sacrifice III' I lost all desire to level THM and switched to getting all my classes to 30.

Oh my word, my two year old is exactly like that. >.< She won't sit still for two seconds and is always kicking the keyboard with her feet. And my 5 month old is getting just big enough that she does the same thing. It was great when she was 1-2 months, because she would just sit quietly and eventually go to sleep. What is really hard to deal with is having all 3 of my older kids hanging all over my office chair and bouncing it, rocking it, hanging on it while they try and see what I'm doing. Makes me sick to my stomach. :P

However they are a ton of fun while I solo, cuz they cheer me on and are always telling me to watch out for this 'bad guy' or that 'monster'. :D They are also very demanding and are always wanting me to goto the castle but I tell them than no one lives there anymore :(
