Previously we made an announcement mentioning that in patch 1.22 we would adjust the exchange rate for items collected from primal battles. As the development team was making adjustments, after giving thorough consideration for balance and other aspects, they have decided to reduce the number of Kupo Nut Charms to 10; however, the number of Inferno Totems will not be reduced and will remain at the cost of 10 each weapon.

We apologize for the change and appreciate your understanding.

I was very upset when I read this. They shouldn't have gone back on their word.

Yeah I agree. I am kind of shocked (a little) that they decided to back track. I was one of the fortunate ones that went 6/7 after 48 runs, but I know that I was definitely an exception. I understand that when content comes out, especially content considered current level-cap or endgame, that all the items should not be obtainable within a day or two. But on the other hand it is ridiculous to see folks go over 100 runs with "maybe" 1 drop.

I've had link shell mates and friends go over 50 runs without a single drop. We can't trade the drops because the code is impossible to implement. FOX News found out that the code came from the 5th dimension and cannot be allocated to Square Enix's central code. Totally understandable. Totally. Folks have given in the past here, as well as on the official forums some good alternatives, but alas, all fallen to deaf ears.

If Version 2.0 is supposed to get all those "frustrated" folks back as well as enticing a "much wider crowd" such as console gamers etc. this is not the way to do it. Keeping the drop rates this low for the sake of lengthening content is a really poor reason to do so (very blatant on top of it). If they wanted to keep it at 10, they should of at the very least increased the overall drop rate of the physical items by 5%-10% and the drop rate of the totems by 5%-10% as well.

It is still bad, but at least an improvement if they were so adamant against change. Games are meant to be fun, see a little bit of progress doesn't/shouldn't hurt. Going through 100 runs and seeing 0-1 drops is not fun. This just in: Fox News considers it super fun. My post is now invalid.

Eek. Idk if I will ever participate in something like that. I'll be more than happy to do a few runs to help ls mates out, but idk about doing it for myself. To me, no pixelated data object is worth that sort of time and frustration. What is SE think? Challenging material sure! But this is insane. :/. However, I will say the ones who are nostalgic for FFXI, this must be right up their ally. I never did end game in FFXI due to RL being so busy.

Oh well, it is what it is.

Really stupid announcement.

I don't do ifrit/moogle runs anymore. I don't really play much so its just a waste of my time to go win after win with nothing to show for it. Its pretty sad - not sure why SE is doing this except they just realize the game has so little content they have to extend the grind on current content to retarded levels to make up for it.

At least let us pass weapons to those who need them.

This is the main problem in my eyes....I can't understand why we still have this horrible looting system..I can't imagine it's difficult to implement maybe it's a way to artificially extend the life of the content we currently have.

Yoshi already replied to this, it's a part of the list of dirty laundry from the initial game design. I believe in his last statement about it, that they can not implement the new loot mechanics in the current client.

The new mechanic sounds like it will support want/need, as well as party/alliance drops. And will have some form of configurable support (e.g. there may still be single player loot along with party loot, so instances like Ifrit's chest will still go to the player, while items like the chests in Darkhold will go to the party loot).

But, he hasn't gone into great detail, and it's been spattered over different comments he has made, so take my words with a LARGE grain of salt.

To be honest, I like running Ifrit and Moogle fights. But I win 97% of the time so I enjoy it. My only qualm is that I stand at 6/7 and with the awful drop rate the changes of me getting the Sword is incomprehensible... so I gotta grind out more totems...

Well, that's what you get for skipping the leveling grind.
Since people powerleveled to all 50 in a couple of weeks, SE needs to include new roadblocks to keep people from "finishing" the game.
Hope you are happy now that they replaced one grind with an even more stupid one. >.>.
