Last night, after the patch, I was playing for a few hours and then got booted. I log in this morning and it put me back about an hour before I got booted. I know for a fact how long because I was on a logging leve and hit the stealth ability for the first time. I was trying to figure out how to turn it off.

After I completed that leve, I did 2 more and gained 1 level. So, again, I log in this morning, I am 1 level less and still have the 2 leves that I completed in my Log.

Has this happened before? Is it a glitch? Or is it unique to las tnight for anyone else? OR... Is that some thign that can happen with bad log-outs, hard shutdowns, boots?

Thanks. I would like to report it somehow if it's a glitch. I have never had that happen before, maybe a quest reset but not 2 quests and a level of work. I'm new to FFXIV but FFXI, that has never happened. What if I was in a party or something?

Nothing but a slight inconvenience. When servers really "crash", they use backup data from an earlier snapshot of the game world to "rollback" to a time in point where the problem had not yet manifested, and thus data could not have been corrupted. Basically anything that happened between that point and the actual crash is lost in the Limbo of things "that happened but never did". Pretty creepy actually.

Think of it like an alternate timeline.

And imagine what would have happened to your Character
and the whole game world
if the crash hadn't happened.

Haha. I was pretty tired when I did all that and thought, maybe I was dreaming. I like the alternate time line though. I wonder what that character is doing now...
