This is the first time I have heard about this game. Is it another mom or just an iPad FF?

Its personal preference and all, but yes we need to educate WoW players that this is OUR game, these are Characters and not Toons. Time to beat that into them one at a time.

E3 always has surprises, but most big publishers announce what they're taking or showing off in advance of the Los Angeles based event. Square Enix just did this, and revealed a new, or at the very least upcoming, 2D Final Fantasy game in the process. Yay!

Final Fantasy Dimensions as its called will draw from Final Fantasy both old and new, delivering "the best of Final Fantasy, retro and fresh alike." What this means is that it'll include (a) a Job system and (b) one of those silly 'dark versus light' stories, which we're sure will keep you on the edge of your seat.

New might not be the best word for Dimensions. Joystiq thinks this might just be a port of Final Fantasy Legends, which was a series of games released episodically on Japanese cellphones in 2010. We'll see if this is the case, but we're guessing Joystiq is right.

Dimensions is due out on iPhone and iPad this "summer." An Android version is hitting alongside this release, too.

I like how "summer" is in quotation marks. Like they totally understand the SE style release schedule. That said, I really hope this is optomized for ipad. I don't really have any games on mine but FF3 which I never really could get into (I prefer 2D sprites to semi-3d sprites)

I hope it's a brand new story but spiritual successor to FFVI or FFIV. Quasi 3D like the recent Mortal Kombat. 3D graphics, with traditional snes style 2D gameplay.

I love how Android is listed as sort of an after-thought...
You would think that with SE starting work with the Vita, they would be more up on trying to get android apps out (ok, I love android and hate apple... AND AM STILL UPSET ABOUT FF3!)

I don't hate them, my disdain is for apple specifically. I use an iPhone for work, and I have an android for personal use. Given Apple's licensing, and development history, I will never personally spend a dime on an Apple product. It's a personal choice thing (like I avoid shopping at Best Buy, and I avoid Walmart unless they are literally my only choice, as well, I will no longer buy a Sony Product until I am sure that Sony will not restrict or punish it's paying customers for that product, this includes any auto-updating product they sell).

Gotcha. Kinda like how I refuse to eat meats that are inhumanly treated. Totally get it.

I was on a veggie trip for awhile. Then after reminiscing about it. I figured that everything that grows naturally is living. Whoever or however is responsible for life taking place. Put those things there for you and me. It's the stuff we make artificially that kills us. I just try not to eat anything I'm attached to mentally. The alternative is to not eat period. I eat anything & I'm thankful for my meals. :P

I guess I'm not hip to why auto-updating is to be disliked. What is it that you dislike about it?

I'm honestly curious.

Thanks :)

Sand I'm not a vegetarian. I just refuse to eat meats that are inhumanly treated. Such brands like Perdue, Tyson, etc. I prefer going out of my way to eat proteins that have a decent life; after all, they taste the best when they are calm, cool, collective and don't see it coming.

Maybe it isn't auto-updating I dislike but needing to update frequently. I just get really annoyed because every time I buy a playstation network card and am all like "woo hoo, gonna buy some games" I then end up spending 1-3 hours downloading a new freaking version of media go, then downloading updated firmware, then updating something else... anyway it is a nightmare, and it puts me off buying games from them, honestly, cause whenever I get a bit tempted I remember what a nightmare it is.
