Hey there,

So I'm one of those people that played FFXIV at release for a few months, but then promptly left when I realised the state of the game, and haven't played since.

Anyway, so I decided to try it out during the Welcome Back week and see how it is. I really liked what I saw and decided to resubscribe, which I did, today. However, after reading about the Legacy Campaign I now have one really big worry. I resubscribed today (the 31st May GMT). Will that mean, if I stay subscribed for another 2 months ontop of this one, that I will be eligible in time? I'd hate to miss out on the Legacy Campaign by a matter of days :(

Please help me out and (hopefully) extinguish my worries. :)

Oh, and once I subscribed this morning, I immediately cancelled it (just because I was unsure if I was going to stay subscribed and I don't want to be charged automatically at the end of the month in case I forget to unsubscribe.) That wouldn't cause any problem with the 90 days required for the Legacy Campaign would it?

(By the way, I'm brand new to these forums, so I hope I haven't done anything wrong).

Many thanks in advance! :)

Read this and it may explain it a little better. It looks like you subscribed on the VERY last day you can before you will no longer be able to get eligibility. Although, it sounds like you subscribed and then cancelled? If you want legacy why would you cancel? I'm just curious. You must pay for 90 days BEFORE they begin beta testing on the ps3 version. I don't know when it starts, but according to zams mod, the last day to start paying and still be able to be eligible for legacy campaign was today. This link is the write up about it. Hope it helps. http://ffxiv.zam.com/story.html?story=29758

You should be ok. The deadline was for brand new subscription accounts. That means they have a 30 day trial and then would have to pay for 90 days sub fee. Because your trial has already expired you should qualify a month earlier (assuming you pay your 90 days) than a brand new account.

In short: subscribe now and stay subscribed until the PS3 beta begins in a few months.

I'm almost certain you'll see this offered again for a brief period after V2 launch. It would be stupid not to, but if you think about it; How long would you have to play to save the same amount of money you'd save if you just waited until V2 anyway?

Its personal preference and all, but yes we need to educate WoW players that this is OUR game, these are Characters and not Toons. Time to beat that into them one at a time.

It would depend. With legacy you get 8 character slots for $10 a month. Assuming you only did the 90 day sub which is around $30 it would take 6 months (for the 8 character option) or 10 months (with the one character option) to pay off for being able to play now and qualify for legacy.

Ha, I know it sounds weird, but it makes sense in my head :). I usually cancel as soon as I subscribe to any MMO, just so I'm not automatically charged for the next month. I'm a bit paranoid like that. If I want to continue, then I can just re-subscribe. I hadn't heard of Legacy before I cancelled, and didn't know I'd want it. One of the main reasons I subscribed this month was so I could get my very own Goobbue before they disappear. I think they look so great :D

Thanks for the replies everyone, they really helped. I would've been unbelievably disappointed if I had've missed out on it by one day!
