Payment Methods?Follow

I bought FFXIV, registered, installed, set up account, and been playing the game. Now that my 30-day free trial is almost up, I'm looking into payment methods... and I just have one question:

We still cannot have automatic deductions from credit cards as a payment method without going through clickandsteal?!

2012 my ****.

Has anybody read anything about how they might plan to change this in the future?

You can use straight up debit and credit cards now

OP posted same failed complaint in official forums. Wasted time complaining instead of scrolling down for the credit card option. I

Scroll down? Looking at the payment options list credit/debit is at the top of the list.

You better hurry and do the 90 subscriber for the Legacy Sticker. I think you have like 3 days left on that. But as for your original question, you can use credit/debit, I do it now.

My previous complaint about the payment methods were quite legit. If you do not think so, I will be happy to clarify because you clearly do not know anything about what my issue was.

As for the issue now, I did see that credit/debit is something I can select, and so I did. Yet my credit card, which I have been using for the last couple of years, is being rejected, only by SE. So I assumed the selection was available, but we still were not able to use it. Now that you all have clarified that you can have money automatically deducted from your credit/debit card, I need to call SE (yet again for the 100th time) to complain about this crap.

Oh wait, sorry. Yeah, I did post in official forums to try and get SE's attention because I don't know how often they check ZAM forums. I thought you were referring to a complaint I posted on the ZAM FFXI forum which was in similar regard to payment methods... the issue had to do with where I was living at the time. I moved back to the mainland, so it is no longer an issue.

But yeah, I did complain on the official forums. I certainly do not think it was 'failed' as my hope was only to get SE's attention. I NEVER post on official forums otherwise. But, whatever.

I didn't realize I could just go to a store and pick up these game cards. Sorry to waste everyone's time. I'll just be shopping for 'game time' from now on at my local grocery store.

have you put your card through the certification process they request? I know I was having an issue finding out where to go to process my card through the certified Mastercard (or whatever it was called) back when they originally started that with FFXI.

Your complaint is a valid one. Just because the option is there...doesn't mean it works. I just re-activated both by wife's account as well as my own. Using the credit method...I had no issues re-instating my wife's account. Using the same card...I was not able to reactivate my account. This was the same card I used a few months ago. I then tried a different card...still wouldn't work. I just worked around the system and bought crysta with the card that was not working,.

So yea...SE will always be SE when it comes to trying to give them business. Its like they don't want it.

I personally use the Ultimate Pay with PayPal option. Since I already have a PayPal account, the entire process takes about 3 minutes once a month, and SE sends out a nice reminder that you've got a bill due in a few days. And neither Click and Steal nor SE ever need to touch my debit card.

Valid argument for SE's MMOs being more difficult to play than others.
