Registration Code problemFollow

So I purchased the digital download of FFXIV and was unaware the registration code would only appear on the order completed webpage.. I expected an email or something where SE would actually send me my registration code, not just show it to me. So now that I've paid for and downloaded the game do I have to buy it again to get another code? Please help, as SE support doesn't seem to care :(

SE doesn't require that you create a Square Enix ID account and make your purchase through your account?

I thought there was a page you could access again to reobtain the reg code. It has been a while, but I there definitely should be a place to access the reg-code post purchase, maybe the same place you go to re-download the game should you need to install it on a new PC?

Nope, you just buy the game online and they don't send you a confirmation email or anything.. I saw the reg. code but I assumed it would be sent to me somewhere. Seems I am stuck with -10GB of game I cant play unless I buy it again lol, which will not happen

If there is a place to re-acquire it I am unable to find it :( I looked all night after spending an hour downloading the game and updates

I suppose a buddy code from one of my old FFXI friends would work, but I doubt any of them play this anymore :/

So you purchased it directly from SE? Do you see a service account for FFXIV when you login to your Square Enix ID?

Yes, I got it from SE directly, but when I go to make a new service acct it asks me to enter registration code.

Have you tried just running the game client and logging in with your Square Enix ID username and password? If you had to create a Square Enix ID to purchase and download the game, I'd imagine it would already register the game to your account...

Can't run the game without a service account, and it won't let me make a service account without a code. For some reason they don't make you purchase the digital DL copy with your SE account.. so the game client sits waiting for you to activate a service account, which requires a code.. lol.. thats SE for you. Things haven't gotten an user friendly since the FFXI days lol

I'm not at all surprised. SE has a rep for stupid **** like that. If they made you purchase through your account then at least they'd be able to see that you made the purchase when you contacted them with your SE ID info. So easy, yet so difficult for them to understand.

Anyhow, the chat service opens up a little less than an hour from now. I'd try that and see if you can't get someone to help you out. Sorry you're having troubles.

ok, just as an update, I went digging and I received an email from SE when I purchased, and at the very buttom of the email it has the amount of the purchase, the serial number and the unlock code. If you didn't get an email then you entered the email address in wrong or something...

who knows, the only email I got were ones for account creation after the purchase.. I am screwed I believe... lol

if it helps at all, the email came from: webhelp.v4@digitalriver.com when I made the purchace... granted they might have different suppliers depending on where you download from. Maybe check junkmail folders and such to see if it got sent there.
