Whispers flowing from the Ba'vur clans situated along the northernmost reaches of Eorzea have gradually made their way into the central city-states and outposts, spreading unequal mixtures of confusion and distrust among adventurers and townsfolk alike.

History meets Mystery

The northern Ba'vur clans represent the segmented ruins of a formerly mighty empire, founded on the precept that politeness, above all else, was the surest route to successful diplomacy - and therefore supremacy - in continental politics, and records of the time paint the empire in a positive light. Indeed, for as long as scholars can recall, legends of the frozen denizens' hospitality sat firmly in the minds of both friend and foe. However, these records abruptly cease in the wake of a mysterious and inexplicable storm, which not only severed ties between the empire and other nations, but between the empire's cities themselves.

For generations this frozen land has languished in a state of mutual disconnection, with each former city conglomerating into its own clan with its own particular set of values - and its own provocations toward battle. Rumours come now from the icy plains that an invasion upon multiple fronts is nigh. Each clan apparently attacks with its own interests at heart and the question remains: are the tenuous bonds among Eorzea's three city-states strong enough to fend off the menace of the broken Ba'vur Empire? Or will the land of Eorzea, too, be forever ripped into pieces in the coming conflict?

Weird that the event comes after Canada day. Funny that there is a Canada event at all. Neat.

I think this might be a "happy friday" thread, as I see no sign of this on the lodestone, and I'm Canadian, too.

Plus Canada day was July 1st this year...

oh, I totally got tricked. And here I thought SE finally noticed Canada. I guess I'll go back to clicking the "US" tab on their website now.

You should have known better, no one notices Canada except when South Park talks smack or your Hockey teams are playing ours.
