so ill be starting the game soon as soon as i figure out whats the deal with servers and when i can log in. my question is..
am i late to the game for pre 2.0 and way to early for 2.0?
to break it down better..
is everyone in this game pretty much done and waiting for 2.0 and the people not in the game are just not getting this till 2.0?
so will the server seem lonely? i just wanna party play like in the old days of FFXI

Best Regards and see you server side,

I'd say atleast 95% of the playerbase right now have multiple level 50 jobs since most of us have been around since the beginning. This puts a lot of strain on new players since nobody is leveling lower level jobs. Also, along with this, new players come in expecting the gameplay to be similar to what it was in FFXI. This simply is not the case. The original development team went out of their way to make this game completely different than that of XI. People come in expecting group play, but due to the large number of player not having any lower level classes to level and the "solo" mentality they built the game on anyways, new player tend to get bored rather quickly. Once you enter the game, you will not see many players in Limsa Lominsa or Gridania. You'll need to travel to Uldah to see everyone. This game is extremely solo based until you join a linkshell. Join one with lots of new and up coming players and you may find yourself with people to play with. Otherwise, you'll find this game very lonely.

while i figured this would be the case that's fine for now as I can get the hang of stuff. I figure 2.0 will bring new players hopefully. i would assume endgame though is fun? well ill give it a shot soon and see how it all pans out! Hope I can at least enjoy it!

It`s fun for, like, the first 500 times.

'Fun' is a relative term and it solely depends on the individual. If you find it fun helping linkshell people on the AF quests or PL'ing linkshell members/friends and then doing garuda/moogle/ifrit 150 times each, countless CC/AV runs and then Hamlet 20 times per day then endgame is fun. If that all doesn't appeal to you now it won't improve much when you have multiple 50's unless 2.0 has more to offer. I still play the game a lot despite all of these things but I like to gather, farm and craft things, play the markets to make gil, help others out (even random shouts). I am starting to have 'why did I log in' moments these days as I've done everything you can do in terms of grinding levels. I could go for luminary tools, complete my achievements or try and get my Relic weapon but at present these do just not appeal to me - doesn't mean they won't in the future. I'm hoping that 2.0 will give me more to do but I think if you like a game and have met good people on it you will keep playing it - well this is certainly true in my case anyway!
