I'm stoked!!! I'm going into this game totally blind. No researching on Allahazam, no searching on forums, no wiki's….nothing. I'm going to be the biggest noob this game has every saw and I hope you get the chance to laugh at me.

But I can’t wait to be wowed. I’m ready for that feeling of excitement of not knowing what is around the corner. See you guys at launch of 2.0 or in the PS3 beta if I get lucky!!!!

Good idea. Maybe I should avoid these kinds of forums, news releases and reviews and try and get back into the pure, easily enthralled mindset I was in when I bought FFXI when I was 13~14 years old.

Nostalgia... never as good as it was the first go around.

I've been absent from XIV since February and I'm hoping that XIV will capture my attention and hold it long enough to be enjoyable, but I wouldn't hold out for it being as good as the experience was before MMOs really took off.

Its personal preference and all, but yes we need to educate WoW players that this is OUR game, these are Characters and not Toons. Time to beat that into them one at a time.

Surely the same would be true for any new MMO, unless you somehow mentally condition yourself otherwise? Until we have a major paradigm shift in the genre, that is. (eg. switching from screen display to immersive virtual reality)

Achieving suspension of disbelief is the biggest barrier to enjoyment for me, which gets harder and harder after each game...
