Am i screwed? (Your SE account has already been cancelled)Follow

Soup Guize

So in anticipation to the upcoming ARR release, next year, i have decided to start playing FFXIV, once again. Now, i think it was roughly a year and a half ago, where i set up an account with the SE account Management System, and i also linked my FFXI account as well (I think...). Now, under the assumption, that i simply deactivated my account, when i decided to stop playing FFXIV a while back, i thought i would just be able to simply log in with my account that i initially set up, reactivate and start up my subscription, once again. However, when i try to log in with my user/pass, i get the message above the fields, which states:

Your Square Enix account has already been cancelled.
Please contact the Square Enix Support Centre for details.

I have done what the message suggested, contacted SE by e-mail, stating my situation, this was yesterday. I have not received a response, but after some reading i have done, i don't believe i will. At the time when i "deactivated" my account, i believe i did something that would not enable me, to reactivate my account at all, so it is long gone and no longer in the SE database.

Now, i understand that there is fine print and user agreements that one should read through, before confirming in regards to such things as account creation, and what happens if you perform certain actions within your account. But, SE, is the only company that has implemented this feature, whether it be for security, performance (In terms of keeping records of players in their databases) or whatever, it seems a bit bizarre, that i now have a game, no, 2 games (FFXIV and FFXI) which i cannot play anymore, simply due to my account no longer being retrievable. I can't even create a new account, and register the games that i own, with a that account.

I am a little mad, at myself and SE, i really wanted to start playing this game again, and i refuse to purchase something, that i already have (Which i did for FFXI)

Oh yeah, when i e-mailed SE support, i used another e-mail, that i had not registered with SE account manager, i hope this will not cause any problems.

Thanks for reading

Peace

Considering that my account has been cancelled, all information, personnel details are now long gone, shouldn't i simply be able to create a new account, with the same username and reenter my game details?

Not since October 1st has rolled around, they're not allowing any new registrations until the launch of 2.0.

Ahhh I see. I'm not sure really, had you linked your FFXI account to your SE account before they deleted everything? If so, I think there would probably be issues with that. If not, I would think you should be able to create a new account and link things up immediately.

Correct, i managed to link both FFXIV and FFXI when i created my account. Yet before, i just created a brand new account, new e-mail and all, and i went to register new service, selected FFXI and typed in my registration code that came with my FFXI hard copy, yet it tells me the code has already been registered.

Update, just tried account, for registering Playonline, yet i got the same message, hopefully SE will be able to resolve this.

Also, on a side note, how are server populations for FFXI atm? I know they merged many servers a while back, but are many people still playing at lower levels? for example, will i still be able to pt at the Dunes>Quifm>Yhutunga etc

Once you input the registration code you can't use it again to register. I am sure your account information is not permanently lost. You should give customer service your billing info and they should be able to find your old account info in the system and give you the details to reactivate your old account. Unless they are making special exceptions to the FFXIV 1.0 deadline your out of luck. Better luck with FFXI though.

Your info isn't gone, it's just frozen. When your service is 'cancelled' it just means that you aren't currently subscribed. You won't have to purchase the game again, but you won't be able to subscribe until ARR is released as mentioned in the link Lou provided above.

If you're trying to reactivate XI then login to your SE ID, click the 'Select Service' link on the left side of the page and then click the link for 'Playonline/Final Fantasy XI'. After that there should be a button for 'Options List' (If you have more than one account linked then make sure you click the correct button that is in the same frame as the POL ID you're trying to reactivate).

Finally, you should see a list of your characters with check boxes next to them. Select the characters you want to activate and then click the button just below that to reactivate. Follow the steps to set up your subscription payment method, give it about 10 mins from the time you reactivate until you login to the game and then send me all you gilz!

In my experience with the black hole that is SE's customer support, it's always better to contact them when necessary through the Square Enix ID website. If you contact them any other way you get a generic message, but if you go through this link they can actually verify your account with the secret question and answer and they will give you specific answers. If there actually is a cancellation on your account that would be blocking you from reactivating XI, you'll find out more info following this route.

Good luck.

Yes, this is where i have been trying to login from, and have sent help e-mail to them through the support page, but i will be trying chat support tomorrow, as it's about 3am here in Australia when it becomes available (0900-1800 Pacific time).

But the thing is, i cannot even login to my account

SE ID: Meevinman
SE Password: .......

I get the message, when i try to log in:

Your Square Enix account has already been cancelled.
Please contact the Square Enix Support Centre for details.

So i cannot actually gain access to my account, which is a bit of a worry.

Ok yeah, sorry I wasn't sure if you were getting that message from the client or the actual website.

Oh, one other thing... when you go through that website for support you'll fill out all the info and get a ticket number. Wait about 5 mins before you click the chat button because for some reason they don't receive the ticket info on their end for a few minutes. After that they should be able to tell you what's going on with your account. Good luck.
