What significant things can I accomplish in before ARR/2.0?Follow

Currently, my highest job is 43WHM. I really don't have a lot of time to spend on FFXIV right now, but I would like to get as many significant things accomplished as I can before the servers go offline. Basically, what solo activities (somewhat meaningful) can I do to build up my character? I still don't have my own chocobo mount, but since I have Legacy status and will obtain my own chocobo upon the launch of ARR, is it even worth pursuing right now? Are there any other solo activities I should be accomplishing before the end?

I am not someone who has done everything in the game, but I have done most things. If I were to choose just one of the things I've done I would choose getting as far as possible in the Grand Company storyline.

I know not all of it can be done solo, but especially some of the earlier missions can be done solo and even then I would go so far as to say I would try to take the time and find some people for the parts I can't solo just to get as far into the story as possible. From it you will get some seals and ranks which I am sure both will come in handy even in ARR and imo it is the most fun you can have in the game solo as well as in a group.

I agree with the above. Do the Grand Company storyline as soon as you can.

Most of the GC storyline can't be done solo. Honestly, unless you have a group of people who can help you do stuff, there's not much at this point you'll have time to finish. This is especially the case b/c your highest job isn't lvl 50. You'll spend several days grinding that up to 50 on levs just to be able to find a party to do the later quests involved with the grand company. I suggest since you'll be soloing stuff, if you do decide to play, level your crafts and make some money.

I am level 48 and have been consistently getting a level a day for about 2 weeks playing only a couple hours a day. The levequests, if set on a difficulty a couple levels above your own will enable you to rip a decent amount of xp. currently I'm getting 700-1000 per monster in the leve plus 5000-7000 upon completing the levequest. It's boring and repetitive. But I'll be at 50 by tomorrow evening.

....so there is still some stuff to do. Grind out to level 50 asap so you can experience all the cool stuff in ARR (assuming there is cool stuff to experience.)

The list is sublinked to the link I have linked....

IMO I'd ignore crafting and gathering as those should be better (whether the XP is easier or less painfull or both we dunno yet). I'd also ignore leveling anything else to 50 if you have one job there since it seems we'll be moving more towards quest based leveling and it would suck to go through a bunch of quests and not have any char's to benefit from the XP only to have a new class dropped at some point and wish you'd used the quest XP better.

There's almost 0 chance of getting any of the Imperial or Atomos stuff done now unless you can form dedicated pseudo alliances, which likely won't happen because everyone else is pumping out items on their crafts to mitigate the upcoming gil drop pandemic...

I'd do the quests listed as dissapearing. Not for the achievements, but for the quests' stories which may or may not be pertinant in AAR.

I'd jump on some primal stuff or any of the Grand Company quests as people seem to still be doing those alot.

And IF you have the gil to speculate, try to think of an item that won't drop in price too quickly after AAR comes out. Me personally I think I figured out what item won't decrease much in cost and is high demand... and it's tasty.
