I made a post on my google+ that I wanted to share with you all :)

I've played Final Fantasy XIV since the 2nd Alpha phase of v1 (March 2010). Great game!

It's definitely had its hiccups but the team both present and past are very dedicated. When Yoshi-P took charge I knew I would stay with it until it dies.

My wife took one look at the game after playing Final Fantasy XI together for ~5 years and said this game would never be up to par. This was during the Alpha and launch; which was the same game. A Realm Reborn might change that!

I took a long hard look at the game when she said that and I could see where she was coming from. Now that I've been sneaking in photos during dinner, watching movies or pretty much anytime I can; we together can see where the games going.

The game itself has been an arduous journey but not because of the game-play (personally speaking). The in-game community on all sides of the fence worldwide has wanted something more from the game. We didn't realize at the time the entire rework that was taking place. Because of this it always drew heated debates in-game, split communities and caused a lot of drama.

This will all change come FFXIV: ARR. My wallet and time welcomes you sir!

I've taken some time to upload the screenshots of my time that I felt were very nice. I have very fond memories of many things;

• First time I explored a new area (always tried to do at level 1 for the adventure)
• First kill of a dungeon or primal
• Making a new friend from another country and learning a new word from their language

I hope you enjoy this album as well. If you played XIV I also wish that it brings back that nostalgic feeling that many of us will feel. I'm on Excalibur so when it's released again look me up; always there to help and offer some advice :)

Now if only they let me re-subscribe I'd still be playing! Missed the deadline by 4 minutes... took my nap too long :(

/hint: (If you're reading this +Square Enix you can just charge my credit card. It's okay. ^.~)

As such see you all in "A Realm Reborn"!

Like Final Fantasy XI, the game specs will be extremely high for the time, but in about 5 years, an average machine can run it on max settings with little to no issues. Tanaka also expressed interest in making a benchmark program available.

How does Alpha look amazing? It looks like most free-to-play Korean MMORPGs.

I think I'll stick with Phantasy Star Online 2, or something. A Realm Reborn will disappoint.

I actually agree, it does look nice :)

To be honest though, I've actually come to like the game very much as it is (excluding the terrible server speed/graphics engine etc etc etc)

Here's hoping for a bright future! ^^

As I told the XI crew I run with, it was really only in the last couple of weeks that FFXIV felt like fun, because suddenly there was a time limit to do and see as much as you could before the version of the game ended.

I only started last April, in part because of the disaster of the ACEN FF MMO panel when State Alchemist was unable to make it. It took me a while to warm up to it, and I never really did get used to the clunky controls, but what content I was able to complete as I rushed to the end was pretty fun. And I finally ended up joining a linkshell with helpful, talkative people.

The new Titanic MMORPG from Blizzard will fail too and I have no idea why.

I might have to make a char on Balmung (or whatever the new server will be called) to play with Catwho. My current XI LS is on Durandal, but I'm not sure how many are coming over once 2.0 launches.

Right now we're doing silly things like seeing if we can kill ourselves enough to shred every single piece of gear, and exploring caves and such we were too scared to explore before because death has no permanent penalty right now.

I'd just like to have an LS to play with should mine decide they don't want to commit to it, they're pretty fond of XI really (and I am too, just not a whole lot of time for both atm).

I can't wait until launch so I can finally join you guys. Been following the game since launch, just never had a computer I could play it on until a little over a month ago, by which time it was too late to join. Hope to see you guys on there soon Smiley: grin
